The powerful combination of award-winning apps and a proven method—YNAB’s Four Rules—has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by teaching them to get control of their finances, stop stressing, and live the life they want to live. A Proven Method—YNAB’s Four Rules Rule One: Give Every Dollar A Job | Be intentional about what you want your money to do before you spend it. Rule Two: Embrace Your True Expenses | Break up larger, less frequent expenses into smaller, manageable amounts. By saving monthly for insurance premiums, holidays, or car repairs, when the time comes, your money is ready and waiting to do its job. Rule Three: Roll With The Punches | When life changes, so must your budget. Make adjustments and move along. Flexible budgets succeed because they’re guilt-free, realistic, and sustainable. Rule Four: Age Your Money | As you repeat the first three rules, you’ll increase the time between earning a dollar and the moment you need to spend it. When your money is at least a month old, you’ll have finally broken the paycheck to paycheck cycle for good. I’ve been using YNAB since the desktop version— I still say it’s the best $60 I ever spent. First budget to keep my spouse and me on the same page. We saved well over $1000 in our first 7 months with no changes to income. When every dollar has a job, we transfer our gaze to what our budget says we have, not our bank account. We log every transaction. It’s kept us from overspending- we love green categories. The new web-based app is so simple to use, and they’re always improving it. If you’re looking for something uncomplicated, and you’re ready to change the way you think about your money, you won’t be disappointed with YNAB.
  • Great app, would love a payment reminder to be built in...

I recently started using this app and I will say I love how easy the user interface is. I’ve used other apps like this and I find most of them to busy for me and I loose focus trying to understand the app and end up not using them at all. Something I miss about using other apps are the payment reminders. I have most my bills set up as paperless, like most of us do, and would really like a reminder to help me remember those bills in the busy day to day lives we all live. Other than that. Works great!
  • No support for Slide Over, no support for Split View

Do you want to compare your YNAB transactions to your bank? Expect to do a lot of short-term memorization, because YNAB for iPad won’t let you see them side-by-side.
  • Usually apps and support don’t mirror each other

You usually tend to see a cool or good app and has meek support if that. Ynab ks a game changer. I did so much homework on apps. And this is what I learned. * you think you want a “set it and forget it” but they don’t work.take away “you need to be involved and engaged with your budget” * easy. Simple. Yet ynab has the best support ever. A online chat support that walked me off the ledge a few times and at 45 yrs old feel great to still learn. * the big one. This helped my Marriage and my family in that we discuss our budget. Yes discuss our budget vs arguing about money. This has changed my total perspective of keeping one checking account. 1 credit card. And looking forward to teach my kids about money. The only draw back is though it’s 34 days free. I feel I just got the hang of it after 90 days. Look for 3 month free trials.

I love YNAB!! It had helped me to save to purchase a house. I took a break from it and ran into financial troubles. I have learned that I need a clear ease to use software to help me with my financial goals.

A number of years ago I tried YNAB, but in my opinion, it was still in its infancy. I did not readily grasp the concept, it was not compatible with all platforms I used and quit struggling with it after a few months. Fast forward a few years and my financial situation had not improved, so I decided to give it another try. YNABs staff and developers have transformed this app into a truly empowering and enlightening app. It’s User interface is sleek, user friendly, and compatible across all the platforms I use: PC, iPad and android. I did watch a number of their YouTube videos to understand the budgeting system but after 6 months I have finally created a good emergency fund and have never dip into overdraft. Way to go YNAB! I will be a user for life

YNAB has been such a help to my wife and I. It allows us to easily assign “every dollar a home” and helps us each month stay on top of our budget. It lets you know what transactions come in, whether it’s a purchase or a direct deposit. Plus, you can record transactions right on the spot, so that way your budget is updated throughout the day. We used to just use old fashion paper and pen for our budget, but YNAB has given us a way to consistently budget and steward our money, and is a tool that has given us financial peace. It’s cheap, and I definitely recommend it!
  • Working YNAB like a boss

I have never made a review for an app. Ever. But YNAB is more than an app. It has saved me! Before YNAB I was constantly worried about my rent check just barely clearing my account. Now I’m a solid month ahead plus having extra money to put into investment accounts. I now love paying my bills without anxiety. I use credit cards not because I have to but for the cash rewards. My credit card now pays me cash back. The YNAB rules are key. “Every dollar has a job” really was the main concept that has help me get ahead. I’m like a freaking financial genius...working YNAB like a boss.

There’s a steep learning curve but after a month I’m totally digging this. I finally feel I have a clear handle of where my money goes and how to forecast.
  • Great app , reviewing fee makes it not perfect

Have to be honest. Everyone wants to keep taking your money. I understand they need to get paid but this costs $80 a year. So I don’t see myself using this app for years. I’ll use it the first year than I think I’m done. If it was a one time payment would have been 5 stars.
