The instructions for this application clearly state that it will prompt you to register the app with your avid account, however no such prompt appears when you open the app and so you cannot download the partner software for your desktop. Do not bother to download this software because you will find yourself in a world of frustration.

I was thinking of buying the S1 control surface but will never buy it because you need Avid Control for it. One day it works, then all of a sudden it’s no longer working. Once my pro tools subscription ends I’ll probably not renew it.

There are so many bad reviews about how terrible this app is. But Zyhis app is only rated for iOS 13-16. So the only reason it isn’t working is because Avid hasn’t bothered to update the app for the latest software. I can’t even get my computer and my iPad to communicate through thud app. Just be patient and don’t be so harsh.

Absolutely amazing to see features that used to cost thousands of dollars packaged up for free with Avid Control. Big thumbs up. I have it running 24/7 in a pro studio. Near flawless performance.

Yeah, you can download the app for free, but it only works if you got an activation card with an (expensive) paid Avid hardware controller. It would be nice if they told you that here. Typical Avid.

Why are most of us not seeing this app work? The developer says download Eucon but all routes just take you back to this useless app. Avid isn’t big on helping anymore since they recently moved on up to Mt. Olympus, leaving us mortals to try and sort out this Calculus & fend for ourselves.

I’ve used this app for several years without problems but the last update has some serious bugs in the graphics. When automating surround panning , the red dot does not follow your finger. Also , some faders fail to follow your movements even though the automation its being controlled and recorded. Its very frustrating that the moment Avid announces its been sold, the app starts giving you problems without hopes for future updates after the company has been sold.

I (for some reason) decided to try ProTools out. I’ve used Studio One for years, so I was interested. Bought the DAW, installed everything correctly. Got this app, seems reasonable. Not. Messed up the first install, it took forever and a bunch of pop up’s and random page changes to find EUCON. Finally found it, installed, then reinstalled the app. No go. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. When I finally got it to connect, it stayed blank, nothing worked. I checked the About section again, yup, connected. Still no go. I finally gave up. ProTools itself is annoying, I’m honestly not surprised that after about 4 hours (i’m persistent) I hadn’t gotten anywhere. Back to Studio One. The remote and UC for it work perfectly right out of the box, no hassles, no constant restarts-Avid, I’m using a MacBook Pro. Restarts are the reason I ditched PC’s in the first place. This app is installed on an iPad Pro 6th gen, latest so and firmware. Maybe you’re not up with the times? Unless you’re a glutton for punishment, don’t even download this. The sad part is that Avid themselves make both the DAW and this app so difficult to use. I don’t know what’s going on with them, but I’m glad I went monthly. The plug-ins are worth the cost alone, and oddly enough, they work in Studio One just fine. Sometimes I wonder what’s going through my brain when I decide to make what could have been a very costly mistake.

I tried using this on 2 different iPads and neither worked. It would connect for a split second and not stayed connected enough to have any data come on the app. It is a waste of space on my iPad. I was hoping to use it to do some self recording in the sound booth… but my hopes have to come from somewhere else. Not the actual company that produced Pro Tools.
