  • Too hard of a game

I’m only a level 5 and it’s impossible to continue unless I fork out money, waste of time. I really like the game but going to delete as it’s frustrating to play.

I will admit I have spent more money on this game than any other ever only to be disappointed by the lack of rewards whether it’s quality heroes or Heroes if the month. I went 6 months before I got all the materials required to ascend a hero.

Game itself is fine..there is some strategy. Haven’t spent any real money yet. But after playing for a couple weeks, it has become clear that you have to pay to meaningfully progress. Even if you pay, you’re still only getting random rolls in loot boxes. They have made it so you can use gems for everything. Good luck getting 5* hero’s and then good luck getting the items to upgrade them. Just get another match 3 game or buy an actual game with no extra micro transactions.

I was wrong about this game. I love it now. However Colen is OP AF! He needs a nerf, he outclasses every five star fire hero and he is a four star.

This game offers a unique way to exploit those match 3 skills you’ve developed in other games to progress through a story board. I enjoy the classic RPGs, but I don’t have time for them anymore so this game fills in that void during my daily commute. (And at other times. Let’s face it, the game can be addictive.) It is possible to play this game at an intermediate level while spending little to no money. Whether or not you spend money, it will take a long time to build up a full team of 5* heroes, and to fully ascend them. If you are tempted to spend $$$, why not watch the YouTube videos of people spending for 10x or 30x hero pulls, to get an idea of how low the probability of a 5* hero is. I’m suspicious of freemium games and those videos confirmed to me that I shouldn’t spend big $$$ in this game. Keeping that in mind, why not accept that this is a game you can play a little each day to progress, but that it’s very expensive money- and time-wise to be the best. After about 2 months, I was able to build a level 13 training camp, which gives me 3* (and a shot at 4*) heroes. I’ve now paid for the VIP status ($5 for one month) so that I can build up to level 20 training camp (and a shot at 5* heroes) more quickly. Currently I am at player level 23, and I have around 1000 trophies from raiding. So with all that in mind, I’ve gotten between 30-90 min of game play for the past 75 days for $5, or an average of 900 min/dollar. Not a bad deal. :)

The game itself is fun at the start. There is a lot to do and it keeps you busy. The cost of the main resource, gems, is reasonable and you can subscribe for benefits. But after a few months you realize that the rate of reward is a borderline scam. I have spent hundreds of gems in an attempt to get the best heroes, or the limited time heroes, and inevitably, you end up with low ranked rewards or duplicates. I have gotten my most powerful hero 4 times. And when there is a special event, you spend extra gems to try to get the new heroes, but get the same duplicates you paid much less for before. And the rare items needed to advance your hero into the highest power levels are so rare that my characters have been capped for months. Of course, you can spend hundreds of gems on “deals” that give you a chance to win them, but in all likelihood will give you a lesser item you already have little use for. I went from believing this was the most cost effective game to realizing it is a total money grubbing scam. Of course, you don’t have to spend money. Just don’t expect to compete or get cool stuff if you don’t. My wife and I realized this after several months of subscribing. Guess we got suckered.

Fun to play, very addictive, you might have to spend some money for further advancement but no one forces you to .... have fun
