Degoo: Online Cloud Storage

Degoo's cloud service has raised serious privacy concerns for me. Despite purchasing a lifetime account, I received emails threatening to expire my account if I didn't continuously log in. Additionally, the app runs in the background, attempting to upload all my media without consent. Most alarmingly, I discovered that Degoo's administrators have access to my files, raising fears of data exploitation. With so many red flags, I can't help but wonder if my data is being sold or misused, evoking concerns reminiscent of Chinese data handling practices.

I love the way Degoo reminds me of memories past. I cherish the reflections of time past.

DO NOT RISK YOUR PHOTOS WITH DEGOO After three years and many emails and empty promises of fixing the problem EVERY representative (same one?) disappears after original canned response of “we will get back to you and solve this issue”… then nothing. 1) after reaching 100% backup it RESETS deletes everything and starts from zero 2) upload gets stuck at ~ 250kb upload speed and does nothing for months does not upload a single photo 3) cannot login on website only phone 4) did I Mention zero customer support? I have gone through three top tier phones since getting this service with a one-time lifetime fee (big mistake) and have tech and internet fluency. There is no VPN or shoddy connection to impact this- it is 100% due to Degoo. It is cheap, defective and un-supported DO NOT RISK YOUR PHOTOS WITH DEGOO

Maybe this would be an ok place to store text files or standard quality photos. But the upload speed is so slow (think dial-up AOL), that high def or 4K media takes forever to transfer.

Don't go beyond what they offer for free. Don't upload anything without backing it up to something safe. I paid for the lifetime storage. They took it all and deleted my purchased account by a capricious and unreasonable act of will. Simply, I got mugged. Update: This is an email response from Degoo. Hello, We have a separate team which reviews appeals so I am not completely certain about the criteria used to judge appeals. We can only see the filenames of the files that were flagged. We cannot actually open, view or play them. The way the appeal system currently works is that files are immediately deleted when the reviewer selects the "Decline" button. This means that the appeal is the one chance users have to prove that the files do not violate any copyrights. This, I believe, is what the reviewer was looking for in your appeal. I have a few other accounts that are looking for reconsideration. However, our manager hasn't had the chance to review the accounts yet. UPDATE: I did appeal and deleted the supposed offending content all before the required date. I received no response. Instead degoo thought it fit to delete all content and my paid for life account. Many irreplaceable photos and other items were destroyed. All content was my own copyright and original creation. This Swedish company, degoo, implies that you are guilty until proven innocent and will not allow you to prove it. Please do not risk your valuables to this cloud storage alone. There are better options. Stay safe.

You to me use to be a great cloud for what I needed. But for the last week I have been trying and working hard to get it to quit saying Something Went Wrong Try Again . It finally came back and started working and I was going to give you 5 stars instead of 1 . Until I go thru my pictures and at some point all I get is a bunch of !!!!!. It’s tells me to click on the link and download to open the picture. So I did and it sent me back to where I was at with the !!!!!!!. If you can get things straightened out I will be happy to give you a 5 star. I paid for the pro so please fix.

I’ve been using this app for a few years, and now it’s unusable. I tried downloading a photo last night that I saved about a week ago and got an error message saying something went wrong. There’s no actual support for this, so I don’t know what’s going on with your app, but you probably might want to fix it.

I loaded 100s of baby videos of my children onto degoo. We visited Disney and purchased photos of the kids. When we loaded the photos onto degoo we were accused of copyright violations because of a pandora background in one of our (purchased) photos. My account was locked immediately. I was told an investigation would take place. Then I was told my account, photos, videos deleted and I had no way of removing them from the site. 10 months later, after emailing back and forth, pleading to get access to my files and videos, I’m told the videos are gone with an apology. I have no back up of most of them.
