I’ve been using this app for years, and rely on it, but the last few updates have resulted in constant “downloading…” status with my documents. This makes it very difficult to get any work done. Again, started happening with the last couple of updates. QA oversight?

I bought and subscribed so I could have an app that fulfills its promise to allow me to write my projects on any of my Apple devices, and here years later when I try to do some edits on my phone, the docs I need are stuck “Downloading…”. I rarely need to use my phone for editing, luckily, but every time I try I get that same problem. With multiple phones over the years. 100% FAILURE rate. I read online that it’s because you rely on Apple’s sync mechanism and it has caching/space optimization problems. How about: I am YOUR customer and YOU aren’t providing the level of functionality you promised. If you can’t trust Apple’s mechanism, WRITE YOUR OWN. Yours is the only app I use that has this problem. That tells me that the other apps have written their own sync code.

I think its good, but I also think the price is a little too high. I would use it more if the prise was a little lower.

I liked using this app up until I opened it today to find that I've been locked out the night I need to finish writing a short story for my creative writing class. In order to continue working on my assignment in Ulysses I have to pay through the app store, which I can't really do right now, and the app offers no alternative payment methods. There is also no free version whatsoever. As is, I think subscription services are really gross and predatory and their growing prevalence disgusts me, however, I especially think it should be illegal to list subscription-locked apps as "free" if there is no free alternative. Feels like false advertising. I suppose that's a problem with the App Store and not Ulysses, though. For now, I'm moving back to Bear, at least there is a free version of that app.

I downloaded the app and deleted it on Les then3 minutes. Once I discovered that to get any use out of it I had to pay. Why pay when they are other options probably just as good for free. Wanted to like it but no thanks free is just fine in another app.

Update, moved to the app One MarkDown app. One time fee of 9.99 for lifetime license. Also checkout MWeb from the same author. A lot like Ulysses where you can bundle articles together using iCloud. I choose One Markdown as it allows the use of our own private server NextCloud. For the cost, go with Scrivener, has a lot more features. Another simple app that wants you to pay forever. I’m a Dart/Flutter developer. Prior, Swift dev. This app isn’t terribly complicated. Don’t get me wrong. It took some work. But compared to Goodnotes, WorkingCopy, etc., no where near it. Has a lot of features missing, like Apple open support. I would pay 14.99 one time fee for this app. Do it like how Goodnotes, WorkingCopy, etc, do. When a major release comes out, then that’s a new cost. Like Apple open support. But paying, 5.99 for a simple Markdown language app, or even 29.99 a month for my rest of my life forget. In addition, they are asking for your money for the rest of your life and there is no Android app, no Linux support, no Windows Support. If you are gonna take that much money, we should getting more. Invest it back into development. Going with Scrivener. Has a lot for features for the one time cost.

I use Ulysses mainly for crafting posts for my Ghost blog. It's a delightful piece of software. The only issue I have with it is the unreliability of the sync.
