  • Pleasant to use

I suppose I am one of many productivity app junkies out there… ‘this app will solve all my productivity issues for sure!’… Alas, that oversells all productivity apps. I almost always ditch them once the fun wears off. But I gotta say, the Actions and Timepage apps are so very pleasant to use. The aesthetics and haptic effects are just right. And while they don’t gamify or gimmick it, they do the necessary things that all productivity apps do, they are easy to use, and they are in sync across my devices… but it is the pleasant and easy to use factor that keeps me from ditching it for the next shiny toy that promises to fix all my woes. The biggest endorsement is I actually keep using it over a few months now. To the developers, I love the cleanness of the interface and the ability to change the theme palette. The choices are clean, easy, and not overwhelming. I do wish the themes had additional adaptability for things like fonts. Being able to change the look and feel so easily is a part of what helps me stay engaged when I get bored with a toy.
  • Lacking with Empty Promises

I really want to give my money and go all in. I would even pay more! As I look through the feature requests they all seem to masked with the hope of “under review”. The one most glaring feature, syncing with Apple Reminders has been in this status for over 5 years. The funny thing is that Moleskine has sister apps that already do this. I proceeded to send an email to ask…. 5 years of “under review” feels a little much, and the response was, great news, this feature is under review with no timeline. Hands down, this ecosystem would be absolutely amazing if the Moleskine team encouraged collaboration between their product teams to make what feels to be a basic feature expectation in this day and age happen. Or, if that is just not going to happen, the company should not hide behind “under review” for over 5 years and keep people hanging. What does this do for brand reputation?

Same as a lot of the apps on the market. Pay wall everything and hope you forget to cancel.

Doesn't work with Siri. You have to have both Actions and Timepage. While the phone app for Timepage will consolidate items from Actions with your calendar, it will not do it on your watch. Most planner apps only require you to use one app; this requires two separate apps.

A truly beautiful app. It makes scheduling my life 10x easier. Though there are a few things that would make it fullproof: - Different viewports on the laptop app and web version as I find it hard to follow and use - Having an Actions laptop app to match the Timepage laptop app so I don’t have to use my browser each time I want to use Actions - Being able to add an action straight from the Timepage app without redirecting me to the Actions app(this can be very frustrating when I’m trying to plan my week all in one place) - Fixing the app crash when you input or edit actions back to back Moleskin Studio apps are my daily go to and as a designer they make planning go extremely smoothly with all the task customization options. I can confidently say they have the best task/calendar apps out as of now. Looking forward to their next updates and changes.

I am not organized by nature but this app system has honestly helped me get there because I LOVE that I can chose the colours to create my own vibe, I could swear I get a dopamine hit from the neat little ‘bippy’ noises, and I find it’s ability to separate out events and actions, allow repeats and deadlines extremely user friendly and helpful.

  • It’s So Close, But The Issue Can’t Be Overlooked

This is so close to everything I want. It’s missing one incredibly important thing. The repeat can only be daily, weekly, monthly, yearly 🙃 Meaning you can’t use it for repeating tasks at work! You can’t customize the repeat or even just have it do weekdays. This is such an oversight. I really wanted to love this app. I love how simple it is. I love the design. I wish they let you color pick instead of their very “beige mom” palettes, but that I could’ve easily over looked. However, I can’t use an app for work that doesn’t have, at least, a weekday repeater. I’m really disappointed.

All of these moleskine apps are so much better than the Apple native apps. Love it.
