I love this app.!

I’m only two hours into this app and already love it. Not very often that I find something so incredibly useful, informative and helpful all in one place! I love the quick ID from photos; I have several “volunteers” in my garden this year and now I know what to expect! I have some obscure heirloom plants growing and the app knows what everything is, I even learned some useful care tips. A great thing about this app is the diagnosis of issues detected in the pictures you provide, and how to fix it! One of my tomatoes showed “yellow leaf” and gave me precise instructions. You can add the plants you IID to “my garden” and there is a diary to store notes on each plant. All in all, this is a great app for novice gardeners and old-timers alike, and far superior to its competitors. I appreciate the 7 day free trial. A little pricey at $30/year but I’ve already decided it’s worth the money. Thanks developers! You scored on this one. UPDATE: still a 5 star rating! Living on many acres in a 9b redwood forest setting, this app has become invaluable in identifying the diversity of life in my environment. I use it daily during Spring & Summer. Accuracy is not 100% (I would not consume something I found in woods based on the app’s ID) but it’s close. I love being able to save plants to “My Garden” for useful reference. My garden has become a space for healing and I appreciate the symbolism/meaning feature. This app has helped me become a better gardener and I highly recommend it, esp if you’re a new or inexperienced gardener. Happy Growing!

I give it two stars because when it works, it works fairly well, but when it makes a misdiagnosis, that could be deadly to unskilled beginners who might be using the information for foraging and not aware of how important absolute identification can be for safe foraging.The information that the app provides is usually fairly good, but sometimes fallacious and unreliable and there's always a fair amount of misinformation mixed in with the facts as if the people who write or edit the information are not skilled degreed botanists or aren't very knowledgeable in that field of expertise and often just guessing about things for embellishments based on sophism or some non reputable, unverified, Internet source or word of mouth. With some work, reconfiguring and proper staffing this could possibly some day be a very useful informative app. but for now it's just a curiosity or another game.

I’ve been able to identify so many strange (and not so strange) plants and flowers with Picture This. Absolutely a great help to someone who is just discovering the joy of gardening. 1000% recommended.

A superb app for homeowners or professionals.

The raison d’etra for a plant ID app is accuracy, and PictureThis was pretty good a year ago and excellent now. I am a “happenstance photographer” dependent on my iPhone 15 to record flowers planted or wild in my daily walks. PictureThis does a detailed ID easily and correctly— Even the wild ones in the woods.

I use this app way more than I thought I would. Whether it’s identifying flowers in my existing garden, or on a hiking trail, or around the neighborhood when I see a plant I like. I really appreciate this app.
