My go to app for everything ocean weather related. Extremely accurate, detailed and up to date. I only wish Ocean Temps were added to the overlay options. 5 star app but would be a 6 with ocean temps!

This app worked great until fairly recently - I’ve used it several years. I now have to close and reopen the app multiple times to get the current to show up, and sometimes even that doesn’t work. Disappointing for a paid app :(

Radar hasn't been loading for months. Just noticed it hasn't been updated in 3 years. Maybe they're out of business?

My favorite app for sf bay currents, but sometimes it randomly stops working, and stopped showing wind data a while ago, now just stopped loading currents too! And the help button takes you to a defunct zen desk page, which is super frustrating.

no seriously, I’ve been using/paying for saildrone for around 2 years at this point, and I can say it’s absolutely worth it. As a sailor, it has great functionality to check the coming forecast in any location, and the specific favorites function is really useful for repeat venues. I use it in tandem with other forecast apps to get an accurate forecast, and I can say it’s absolutely reliable! If you need accurate forecasts for whatever reason, I think the $10 for a yearly subscription is well worth it.

Saildrone is great for San Francisco current forecast.

If you’re an aquatic water man or woman) and not using Saildrone, what is wrong with you! This app is critical for open water swimmers, sailors, and surfers. I use it daily to see what direction I will swim (usually against the current, that way getting back is easier, duh). If I surfed or was on a sailboat I’m sure I’d use it just as often. Get it; you won’t be disappointed. Also, go to Alameda and check out the big orange sail drone in whilst enjoying a beer or something stronger in Spirits Alley, you won’t regret it!
