Description

The critically acclaimed puzzle board game freely inspired by the Mahjong Solitaire: play solo or against players from all over the world with Online and Local Pass & Play modes! In Dragon Castle: The Board Game, you will pick tiles from the central castle to create sets of tiles of the same kind in your own realm and score points. You will also build Shrines, trigger powerful Spirit abilities, and appease the tastes of the Dragons to score bonus points! May the best builder win! HOW TO PLAY During your turn, you can take a pair of identical tiles from the central "castle" and place them on your own realm board to build your own castle. Alternatively, you may sacrifice these tiles to acquire shrines or extra points. Every time you create a set of tiles of the same kind, you flip them face down to score points and build shrines on top for even more points, if at the cost of limiting your building options! You may also take advantage of the spirits and their game-changing powers to manipulate the board... Finally, don't forget to check the active Dragon, and to follow the building requirements to score bonus points. TEST YOUR BUILDING SKILLS IN SOLO Play against up to 3 adjustable AIs to sharpen your castle building skills! OR PROVE YOUR MASTERY IN MULTIPLAYER MODE! Play against builders from all over the world online and get to the top of the worldwide leader-board! • The mystical universe of the board game, fleshed out and digitally enhanced • A tactical gameplay with variable boards, objectives, and powers, allowing for countless different playstyles and strategies! • Solo mode against up to 3 Computer Opponents • Asynchronous Online Multiplayer Mode with a worldwide leader-board To find more information about Horrible Guild, please go to https://www.horribleguild.com Having an issue? • Love the game but the app has a big issue

I am a fan of the game and overall I love the interface design. BUT, I’ve found that the clock recording the time set for a game is totally useless. If I create a game for 30 min. and someone joins, you would think that the app would give each player 30 minutes of time to play. This helps avoid a player getting stuck in a game with someone who never finishes their turn. Ultimately if they don’t play, their time runs out and they lose. BUT that isn’t what happens. The clock for the other player only runs as long as I am still in the game. If I leave to play a game with someone else the in game timer stops. Completely defeats the value of it. So I have 4 inactive games open right now and even though I’ve taken my turns, my opponents have zero reason to worry about coming back to play because they will never run out of time. This is very discouraging. Games like this need to be able discourage game abandonment. Please fix this
  • Fun new twist on an old boring game

Truthfully I’ve never been a fan of Mahjong but these developers have found a way to make it feel new and competitive beyond collecting tiles. I have only 1 complaint about the game. There is no way to randomize the Dragon or Spirit you have during a game. If there was I would definitely give this 5 stars. I feel it’s an easy yet simple game mechanic that should be on every kind of game that allows for selection.
  • Beautiful but bad bug

It’s a lovely game and I enjoy it but after a match ends it just disappears with no indication of final scores! I get a match end notification and that is it. If this were fixed this would be a great game.
  • Zoom

Thanks for making a zoom tool. Now it’s much easier to select tiles.
  • Another poorly conceived & unfriendly design

The tiles need more contrast for depth and the play area is ridiculously small even on iPad. There is no reason whatsoever for 3/4ths of the screen to be sitting empty in solo play and half of it in 2-player. Insipid design. Why do I have to hit a button to end my turn when I have zero additional actions I can take and there is no undo button? What possible sense is there to this? Insipidly unnecessary. And why is there no undo button for tiles you’ve placed?! This is truly unforgivable in a game like this. 2 stars until this is all fixed.
  • Too buggy to even clear the tutorial

Devs clearly didn’t spend enough time testing. Multiple screens have critical bugs where the user can creat a situation where it is impossible to proceed. I’d give this app zero stars if I could. The quality control is just that bad. I’ll be requesting a refund from Apple. Please more fully test your app before shoveling trash into the App Store. We have enough shovel-ware level quality apps already.
  • Lovely game!

Sadly I cannot seem to revise my older review. The developers have fixed everything I was having trouble with, and it all works seamlessly. Love this game and this implementation.
  • Amazing!

To keep this review simple: Great, unique, 2-4 player tile collecting/matching/scoring game with simple rules but a lot of strategy and complexity, and a huge replayability value thanks to a 100 possible combinations of spirits and dragons that each offer an additional action or a way to score points for the given game, thus opening the path to dozens of different strategies. The app itself is very well designed both in terms of esthetics and functionality - beautiful asian themed artwork and music, intuitive user interface and straightforward controls. Offers 3 difficulties of AI (that plays very well) and both offline and online multiplayer. Also I’m very much addicted to the animation of picking up/dropping tiles and the satisfying clicking sound they make!! Very much like real mahjong tiles! Completely makes you forget that you’re not actually touching those tiles yourself. The only complaint I have is that you can’t choose your color in a single player game, which isn’t a big deal, but the different player boards are just so beautiful. Also, I think the option to design your own board layouts like in the physical version would be great!

Game crashes upon opening immediately. Attempted to uninstall reinstall. Rebooted phone. Cannot even play the game at this point on an iPhone XR. Reviewing update - Updating to 3 stars after the most recent update. Found a way for game to not crash. Game will still crash when WiFi is enabled but with WiFi disables is not capable of booting up and playing the game. Still playing on iPhone XR
