  • Attractive app but lacking functionality and pricing is outrageous

If the full version were a $5-10 one-time payment, I would rate it 4 stars. However, $40 a year for a half-baked snippets manager is insane and 5-10x more expensive than more mature and feature-rich competitors. Save for the price, a major annoyance is the inability to use this mouse-free. When invoking the the menu bar shortcut, I have to then click on the snippet with my cursor in order to copy it to my clipboard. And when using the app shortcut, I need to either right-click and select "Copy to clipboard" or click on the icon in the bottom right.

All this app does is store code. Yeah, it give number lines. Great. The UX is not good. I started the "free version" which basically cuts out the external services options (like GitHub). I created a folder as suggested by the UI... then nothing. Clicked in the menus to create a new Snippet. Nothing. Tried again. Nothing. Started using Cmd N. Nothing. After about 15 tires I decided to start clicking around in the UI madly. Eventually I clicked on the right place that enabled adding Snippets. What?!? I was seriously ready to delete the app before I could even use it! And this is a subscription-based app if you want the extra features. No thanks. This space is filled with other, better offerings. If this was Shark Tank, Mr Wonderful would tell you to take it out back and shoot it. Response to developer response: Umm. Read my review. That’s all there is to it.

Well done! I think SnipperApp has great potential, would love to be able to import my snippets from SnippetsLab.

Very good balance of nice UX and cool features. Thanks for the great and responsive support from the developer.

Nice looking app but lacks few critical things. I downloaded it because I've been using SnippetsLab which is non subscription one time payment app and has all I need but it recently started working in slightly different way when I copy and paste markdown text so I decided to give this app a try. Created first markdown snipet with 7 lines of git commands and tried to paste it in terminal. First - you can't just CMD C to copy selected snippet, you have to click on a separate button in the bottom right corner which I found after few attempts to copy my snippet. Second - it doesn't stay in markdown preview mode when I click on another snippet and then go back to this one. So far these two are enough for me to unistall the app and cancel trial subscription on day one. Hope the developer will take my notes into consideration and make improvements to the UX. And I'd strongly advice offreing the app at a fixed price, I don't see the point to pay subscription for every service and specifically for an app that stores text. For that price I'll continue using SnippetsLab and wait for the fix or just use Notes on Mac.

Im sorry but you should not be charging for this app. The app definitely has potential but its just not there yet, please consider not charging and allowing people to use your app to get important feedback to improve it so you can charge in the future. Thank you.

I am a big fan of Snipper App. As a 30 year software developer, I like an app that simply does what it needs to do, and nothing more. Store my snippets in categorized folders (multiple levels), and give me syntax highlighting. Period. Nothing else. Developer is also very responsive, and receptive to suggestions for improvement. Great job!
