  • Great!

This is the easiest and most comprehensive route planning tool anywhere! I use it continuously and it performs pretty flawlessly. I recently bought a Zumo XT2 thinking it would probably be an even better way to plan and execute my trips BUT, after one evening of trying to plan a trip on it, I gave up and packaged the unit back up and returned it. There is not an even close comparison to the InRoute app. I like to do the major planning on my desktop for the large screen and it syncs to my phone. Then, I clip my phone to the bike, turn on my headset and off I go. I like that they keep the app updated and are easy to give feedback to for improvements. Way to go InRoute!
  • Great Program - Horrible User Manual (None)

I am planning a month long 5,000 mile trip from Memphis, TN to San Diego/Napa and back with stops at five or six national parks and several family members. It has taken me many days of trial and error to get all the information I wanted into a Route with waypoints and points of interest. Now that I have gotten most of the trip outlined I have a great tool to add trip details to, estimate travel times, and budget costs. But to get here has been a very difficult learning experience. As much as I like this program I would not recommend it to anyone who is not a computer geak and does not have the patience of Job.

This app has many great features that make it fun to plan multiple day motorcycle tours. Being able to set probable durations at sightseeing spots along the way is important, for example, to better know when we'll arrive at our stop for the day with time to set up a tent or get a motel. The creator of the app has also been immediately responsive to questions and suggestions, which I really appreciate.

I have been making detailed motorcycle joy rides for years and have literally tried all of the serious contenders. No contest. I am able to shape the ride precisely where I want it. There are endless tools to work with and customer service is prompt and extremely helpful. The only drawback is it is not compatable on devices besides Apple (It works well on iPhone and iPad but I needed a bigger screen to work with so I bought a Mac for no other reason than the ability to use InRoute.)
  • Incredible Support!

Would not open on my Mac running Ventura. I sent them an email, and received a response the same day that they had recently done an update and would look into a possible bug with the Ventura operating system. I received another email from them the next day that they had fixed the problem. The app then downloaded and opened normally on my Mac. Wow! I'm impressed with the timeliness and communication from their support! My favorite feature in the app is the ability for it to ignore closed roads. This is great for winter planning of summer motorcycle rides.

Over all this is a great app. I love it for planning my motorcycle trips. The Search functions get better with each update. One big improvement should be added. I would like to see the posted Speed Limit displayed on the map while traveling. Again overall a great application worth the price. Ivan Baton Rouge LA

This app just keeps getting better with time! I use if for all my motorcycle trip planning. This summer I've used it also as my step-by-step navigation vs. Google maps and it did great. There is a learning curve with the app but trust me it's worth it once you understand it.

I like that I can set to not use highways to determine locations to camp using road that apply when towing a trailer, then allowing highways to offer options to use highways when I wish. Once I got used to using it it is a very helpful tool.

It simply works. On our Mac we easily created a 1000 mile route complete with pins for hotels, restaurants, rest areas, and even jersey mikes and dunkin donuts. Just super. Then we opened the iphone and there it was! Just simply works. We love it!
  • Great for Motorcycle Epic Trips

I got inRoute to help plan a 3 week, 4500 mile loop for an epic motorcycle trip with a couple friends. I had tried Google Maps, but got frustrated with limitations on number of waypoints and seasonal road closures preventing routing for our summer trip. It has been fairly intuitive to learn and use. The ability to turn off seasonal road closures and either take or avoid highways is great. While we didn't use the maximize curviness feature, it would be interesting to compare an inRoute high-curve plan with Butler maps to see how well the high-curviness correlates to high-rated roads. Auto waypoint optimization is great too, but we had a loop planned around Glacier National Park and in order to take the route we wanted (a clockwise loop) I wound up using manual waypoint ordering which also proved quite intuitive and easy to learn. I can't speak to live navigation via the phone yet, but the sync from computer to iPhone IOS inRoute app looks promising. Also, very nice to be able to export detailed route with turn-by-turn instructions, jpeg overview map image, and gpx file to share with others to collaborate on planning the route. Highly recommended.
