Description

MoCáp turns your iPhone* and iPad* into a motion capture studio! * Need an A12 chip or newer device, i.e., iPhone XS/XR/XS Max, iPad Air 3rd generation, iPad Pro 3rd generation, or more modern device. Rise your iPhone or iPad, point the camera toward a person, and start making your motion capture masterpiece. MoCáp saves the motion data into the flexible bvh file. You can then use it in your favorite 3D character creation tool, like Cinema 4D, Maya(via MotionBuilder), Blender, Poser, and so. Upgrade to Grande to support us and enable pro features: - Setup the frame rate and file format for motion capturing - Access all history recordings (2 for the free version) - More to come (how about an Apple Watch remoter ;] )

It was very simple and easy to record myself and import it into blender, but the animation is really shaky and it always bends my wrist inwards. Other than that it works really well.

Imported the BVH into Blender very easily. However, it is really troublesome that there is no 24fps option. This is something I can deal with for fully CG scenes but in anything that requires a composited character it makes it a lot tougher. So if it got 24fps as an option I’d switch to 5 stars for sure.
  • Great app!

Feature request: Apple Watch app to allow a viewfinder for those that are self capturing body. It's difficult to do it by myself. I need to use a mirror to check if I'm in frame.
  • Barely works

I can’t find any information on how to shoot a better video for the .bvh file. The armature spazzes out when importing it into blender. The depth doesn’t work. When punching or kicking straight the app thinks that the limbs is being raised. I want this to work but can’t get it too, yet.
  • Amazing

For the developer to make it so easy and reliable. I am certainly impressed and inspired. I pointed the camera at my cousin and it instantly got his pose. Then I sent the file to my email and brought it into blender. Worked easy. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is I haven’t stressed tested it. Just a few easy recordings so far.

Would your app support iPhone XR? Your app said it would support iPhone XR. It did not work. Could you please fix it?
