  • Love the Fruit and Veggie Trackers!

This is my favorite nutrition app. I’ve tried a few others and they just don’t have the features I am looking for. My favorite part of the app is the trackers for water, fruit, veggies and fish. I honestly would rather track all my food this way…logging meals is tedious and I always fall off the wagon, so any way to make that process easier would be appreciated! I would love to be able to use the trackers from my Apple Watch. Right now I can only see water (not able to edit), but it would be really great to be able to just tap a button and log a glass of water or log a veggie serving. I also really like the flexibility of being able to change my nutrition plan. I’ve done Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Mediterranean, and Sugar Detox from this app. There are options for a really structured plan with meals and recipes included or a more DIY approach. Both are great!

This app quite literally gave me a crippling eating disorder when I was in high school. Please do not let your children use this app or anyone who struggles with body image.
  • Adding recipes

For the love of all that is good and pure, please make adding our own recipes a better experience. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been in the middle of or close to finishing adding a new recipe when the slightest swipe downward will remove the “create recipe” window and erase all the progress I had just made meticulously tracking and describing all the ingredients and instructions for the recipe. It’s infuriating and makes me want to delete the app. Also most of the logged foods and ingredients are far off from what the nutritional value says on the package and I have to add or edit all my own foods. Sometimes I can’t even do that because a bar code is already associated with the product. I don’t think I’ll be using this any more.

i REALLY wanted to like this app. and i did for awhile. i like how pleasing it is to the eye, but there’s too many problems to overlook. i’ve used it for about 2 years now and find myself constantly getting frustrated with the app. for how expensive it is, there’s so many glitches and problems. i’ve had to do math in order to log servings because it wouldn’t save as what i put in, only what the default serving is. it’s inconvenient and time consuming to do that EVERY DAY. i also am not a fan of not being able to track all of the water i drink. you can set a goal, but once you reach it you can’t log anything past that. so it’s not very accurate at the end of the day. not to mention that the measurements aren’t just even ounces. it’s 8.45 or 16.91. very odd but okay? i’m also not a fan of the red frowny faces and x’s when logging. even on healthy foods like fruit i’d get red x’s because it’s high in NATURAL sugar. no matter the serving i have. it’s super discouraging and certainly doesn’t make me feel good. i think it’s also strange that you have to manually log fruit and vegetable servings outside of logging them in your meals for them to actually count in your score. as well as exercise. it should be counting that automatically seeing as i log it and it’s reading my exercise from another app. speaking of the scoring, my in-app score and weekly score received in my email were never the same number. so it’s definitely inaccurate. overall the app just makes me feel kinda bad about myself even though i eat an EXTREMELY clean diet. maybe i’ll like this app in another life time.

  • Micronutrients?!

I subscribed (&paid) fully believing that this app would include micronutrient tracking capabilities, which are just as important as macronutrient tracking. There are over 4000 votes for this feature on the request site, going back years. Is this feature in progress? Will update this review to a 5 star once this feature is added. Aside from this critical feature, I LOOOOVE the rest of the app. Intuitive, visually appealing, offers the data I need, love the import/export capabilities to Apple/Apple Watch so that I can track steps, weight, and calories burned and automatically see that added to my calorie counter. Overall the experience is incredible. However, I will not be renewing my subscription without micronutrient tracking capability or at least an announcement that it’s in development.

I like the app for tracking, it’s just when I’m struggling I like to go back to see what was working and you won’t let me go back more then 2 or 3 weeks. It upsets and stresses me out a lot

I love this app! This would be my go too but I hate the smiley face. I wish there was a way to turn that off so I can just track my meals and have the info. I dont live there is always a reaction to each item you add.

I’ve used Lifesum off and on for years, it’s a great app. I really, really, REALLY wish they would add a photo journal part, because I feel as though being able to SEE what I’ve eaten is a huge benefit! I’ve had more success with that type of tracking than just tracking my macros.
