I should have known something free from UA would be a let down but I had high hopes. I just want an app that can tell me how many miles a hike is and shouldn’t have to leave my phone open to do it. I did 2 test runs of 1.25 miles and both went great. Finally decided to trust it on a “longer” hike of about 4 miles. Checked it at around mile 2.5 and it stopped tracking at 1.17 miles. Major let down. Oh well, deleting and onto the next one! If you download I hope it’s better to you than it was to me!
  • Garbage app if you don’t have service.

Map My Hike is utterly useless. If you hike where there is no service (why would you hike anywhere else?) you will not get anything even close to accurate tracking. It will be unable to accurately show your location, it will be unable to accurately tell you how long you’ve been hiking and will be unable to accurately tell you how far you’ve hiked. If you want the whole community BS and feel the need to share on social media every time you step out your door then this is probably for you. If you want a quality GPS tracking app, then get Gaia. I would give this thing zero stars if possible.

The newest update won’t open at all. Was fine the day before this update.
  • Android version gets more for free

A friend and I both use Map My Hike on the same trails. Her free Android version includes more features including weather data where in the Apple version you have to get the paid version for these features...
  • Account setup issues

I would really like to try this app but when I submit my account info, I get “A problem has occurred - Your account has not been created.” Have tried multiple times on multiple days each on my iPhone and iPad (both up to date on IOS). Tried to send a note to Support but need valid login to do that. Out of options. Zero stars at this point.
  • Apple Watch Complication Doesn’t Seem to Work

The app shows up under the list of Complications, but when I go to a watch face it doesn’t show up in the list if choices.
  • Needs more integrations

Really love the app and it works decently well just with the info from my iPhone in my pocket on a hike. However, I’d love an integration with my Leaf fitness tracker from Bellabeat.
