Why ChatGPT?

Uses ChatGPT, which warns when you sign up for the service, to double-check the results for they are sometimes inaccurate. Also, as far as I can tell, you have to type in the name of the bird every time to get a summary. If there is a How To for using ChatGPT with iBird, I was unable to find it.
Not able to consistently access the app for nearly a year despite paid subscription.

I purchased this app over 15 years ago. It was annoying when they switched to a subscription platform, but I decided to stick with it and pay the subscription since I do (or shall I say did) use the app often. For over a year I have been losing access to the app (nearly always when I am out in the field and trying to use it to ID a bird)--it isn't recognizing my paid subscription. I have had multiple contacts with their support team (though it takes days to get a response) with no resolution. At one point the support person suggested that I needed to be on WiFi, which seems ridiculous for an app to be used out in the field. I decided to delete the app and switch to the annual subscription (vs. monthly) a month ago in the hope that the problem would be resolved and now have NO access, not even intermittent access. I can't imagine that I am the only customer suffering through this interminable non-access issue. Truly frustrating!

I’m still pretty new to birding, but iBird Pro has helped me learn a lot. I like how it explains similar species and shows comparisons. Sometimes the app feels a little overwhelming with options, but once you get used to it, it’s incredibly powerful.

iBird Pro remains unmatched for field reliability. The detailed species entries include calls, distribution maps, ID notes, and behaviors. I often sit at my window feeders and use the app to verify what’s visiting. Gone are the days of riffling through books; this is everything in one sleek package. And when I travel to remote areas, the fully functional offline access is invaluable.

This app has helped me recognize so many more birds than I ever thought I could. The audio clips are super helpful for learning calls. I do wish it was a little faster to load on my older phone, but overall, it’s a fantastic tool.
Surprisingly useful even in my own backyard

I downloaded this mostly out of curiosity, but now I find myself opening it all the time. From crows to hummingbirds, it’s helped me figure out who’s visiting my feeders. The app does take a bit of storage space, but I think it’s worth it for what you get.
One of the best tools for birdwatching

I’ve been using iBird Pro for years and still find new features now and then. The variety of sounds and the accuracy of the information really stand out. It’s been a reliable and helpful app for my birding, and there’s always something new to explore.
Well worth the price

If you’re serious about birding or just curious, this is a great app to have. I like that it includes both photos and drawings, which makes IDs easier in the field. The content is excellent and really makes it a valuable tool for birders.

I can’t believe how much more I’m getting out of this app now that it has AI. iBirdGPT has answered some really specific questions I had about diet, nesting behavior, and even historical sightings. It’s not just an ID app anymore; it’s an educational experience.
The AI feature is a game-changer

I’ve used iBird Pro for a while, but the new iBirdGPT feature really surprised me. It’s like having a birding expert with you at all times. I’ve asked it all kinds of questions; from bird behavior to migration patterns; and the answers are detailed and easy to understand. It’s added a whole new level to how I enjoy birding.
