March 2017 Addendum: recent release improves usability, performance and reliability. Nice features, like side by side reading; extra books (for sale) are also good. I have several commentaries and they integrate wonderfully.
  • Best app I’ve used for Bible study

I really love all the customizable features. Highlighters with labels so I can choose a color for different reasons and then it will show you each thing you’ve highlighted in each color. It’s brilliant and simple and user friendly.

Olive tree. I’ve had Olive Tree on all of my devices since my days with the palm pilot. There has been a compatible app every time I changed devices and I was able to move all of my stuff along. Olive tree is everything you can imagine for a Bible study app. I could spend the rest of the afternoon describing all of the features but who’d read it. Just get the app and try it out.
  • Indispensable

After perfecting the practice of selling sub-standard content (missing links galore, typos galore, zero interest in fixing or preventing either), OT decided to try selling a sub-standard app by charging $40 for the ability to have rich-text editing, something that should have been available ten years ago, and permanently taking up space in the UI for it in hopes you’ll give in to their methods. Now they’re “reevaluating” their survey that they wouldn’t let you get rid of, so they still appear to be unclear on whether dark patterns in a Bible app are a good idea (Hint: they’re not a good idea anywhere). This is where Olivetree is in 2024. REPLY: No, as mentioned repeatedly, they DO NOT get to them, I have problems given to them eleven months ago that haven’t been fixed (spoken to support many times). If there are steps to get rid of the ridiculously priced note bar, put them on the web site.

I’m so thankful for my digital Bible! It’s an extension of my hard copy Bible at work!
