  • App subscribers are 2nd class subscribers

    By Darr'ksky
The New Yorker app is basically the creepy co-worker who keeps asking you out despite you A) keep saying “no.” B) have been married to him/her for 14 years. I’ve been a subscriber to the app version of the New Yorker since there was an app, but nowhere on the app does it acknowledge this and it keeps asking me if I’d like to subscribe. I subscribe via the apple app store so it’s possible that the New Yorker considers me some sort of 2nd class/steerage subscriber, but, if this is true then I want to pay a 2nd class/steerage rate. I want the app to remember I’m a subscriber and say, Welcome Subscriber, every time I log into it. (I want the letters of this message to be iridescent, and have a Tiffany’s silver shimmer.) And I want to stop having to restore my purchases. We’re married, remember? Now stop asking me out. Thanks.
  • Please add a dark mode

    By notnami
Reading white text on a dark background is easier on my eyes. The current black text on a bright white background is unpleasant.
  • Audio (author readings) not working.

    By DirtJeans
Nothing but silence. It works in other apps (News+ and New Yorker Today).
  • worst app for best content

    By Sleepy new yorker
get it together! logs you out constantly midarticle, asks repeatedly for log in even if you have been a subscriber for years, cant place hold when reading, hard to navigate, as confusing and frustrating as the print magazine os excellent and well designed. ggrrr!
  • Please Update!

    By GalaizzyReview
While it is convenient to have this app, please update it for other Apple device such as the 10 and 10r. It’s a tad distracting to read when there’s some black bars shown up on my screen. Thanks! :)
  • Won’t save downloaded issues

    By Puzzler814
I download an issue. Looks fine. I read an article. I turn off iPad. Go back to the app half an hour later when I’m on the plane- issues have disappeared. Previous. versions didn’t do this.
  • I’m good with it

    By mh6481
The app works fine for me to read the issues. I’d just love it if it allowed for negative reading with a black background and white lettering, pretty please?!!!
  • An OK app

    By gilliamwibson
Whats the point of this app if I can’t search for an article?
  • Audio

    By iPadnewbe66
Audio of poems and fiction does not work on the iPad app. Can anyone at tech NEW YORKER fix that?
  • Deletes my downloads

    By WRL133
The app used to work fine, and I loved that it remembered my place in the magazine from the previous time. Not only that, it remembered my place for each issue I kept. But now it deletes my downloaded magazines when I leave the app despite my telling it not to and despite my uninstalling and reinstalling a few times.
