  • Unusable

This app is such a slow, clunky mess it’s unusable. Anytime I touch a button it locks up the app for 5 to 10 seconds before anything happens. Notifications for price hike alerts, those don’t work either. It’s a shame. This used to be a great app and a good service, now it’s not even worth opening.
  • Does not work

I have gone through 2 cards. Neither has worked. I save the reciepts, upload them and nothing happens. Go to transactions and it says none. I am over it. I will keep using Upside.

Years ago, it was a streamlined app with just gas prices updated by users. Now it’s become a bloated unresponsive app. Might as download upside 🤢
  • Only one thing missing.

The one thing missing that would make this app the best fuel app I have seen is if you included non-ethanol as something we could search for. Maybe you have a boat or a small engine that you need fuel for. This app could help you find that very easily. That one thing we’re added this would be a five star review.

I’m new to GasBuddy, but I really like it. It’s easy to use and, strangely, fun. I’m going to stop using the GasBuddy fleet card. Even though I have updated the fleet card in Upside, none of my Upside offers have give me cash back since changing to the fleet card. I made sure the fleet card payment info was selected. Also, I stopped getting the cash back for gas purchases on my UberPro card. I can’t afford to spend time with support to resolve these issues so I’ll just stop using the GasBuddy card. Fleet card aside, I really like the GasBuddy app.
  • Lacks data

Doesn’t actually have a useful amount of ya price data. Only has 1 gas station in my city
  • It’s fine for what it is, but could be much more useful

This app is okay for just finding stations and prices, but it doesn’t offer any information about what octane fuels are offered at that particular location, whether they’re selling Top Tier, whether they offer ethanol-free. If the app offered this information I’d probably keep it installed.

I’ve been using GasBuddy for a long time and more often now because of the crazy gas prices. I haven’t use every feature on the app. However, I have a recommendation because of an issue I ran into today and I want to say it’s happened before. Instead of listing gas prices as Regular, Mid-Grade, and Premium can you change it to the associated numbers? Ofcourse, I’m not saying issues won’t happen and prices could be wrong depending on who’s reporting (pretty sure the owner reported once because the price was significantly higher). Which brings me to this…I was just at a gas station reporting Premium gas at 3.99. I’m fairly certain that the vast majority of the United States..like myself.. .consider premium to be 91 or 93. Well, the reporting for this station only listed regular (3.39) and premium (3.99). Sounds fair right? Well, that 3.99 price was for 89 and their price for 93 (they didn’t have 91, which happens sometimes) was 4.49. Given that I was low on gas I was forced to bite the bullet and put enough in to get me to the next one when I had time to stop. Just trying to help users not run into issues later down the road and helps make it more accurate if we can list every option and not give any room for confusion when reporting prices, whether it be by users or owners of these gas stations.

Been a Gas Buddy user for a couple of months now and so far it’s been great. However near the middle to end of March, a previous bank account of mine had been compromised and as a result I had to close it. When trying to link my new one (same bank, different numbers), they told me it failed because it was closed. I’ve been emailing them back and forth since April 2nd and the issue still has not been resolved. When trying to link my new account, it was still attached to the closed one, and a Gas Buddy customer service member has been telling me their processor for payments has permanently blocked my bank account (despite me putting in both instantly and manually the new account’s information and repeatedly doing this with the Gas Buddy app telling me I’m already sharing information from the new one. I had already linked the new account and debit card to Gas Buddy to ensure payments, which before this specific transaction, I had been receiving and paying the previous transactions) and they have repeatedly asked me for a separate bank account to pay my most recent transaction for gas, after explaining a few times that I do not have a second bank account. When explaining this, said customer service worker asked me to do a credit card transaction. However for about a week I did not have that option and once I did, the option for a credit card payment would only remain on a loading screen. And because their processor blocked my bank account, they sent a separate email stating if I fail to pay my “outstanding balance” then they will send it to a credit report and lower my credit score! Like how is your processor not working for my new bank account my fault and something I have to be punished with?? Not once did I refuse to pay my balance! Thankfully we managed so far to get the micro deposits into my bank account so hopefully the issue will be resolved soon. This has all been a stressful nightmare and extremely frustrating. But all of that work to change a bank account? And for deals that they lie about? Count me out! And yes, they say you’ll make money back off of each gallon of gas but they don’t specify that it changes midway through your deal. I’ve had multiple deals claim it’s 25 cents off and pay $40 worth of gas (so for me about 9-10 gallons) and only have a couple of cents off in a transaction! What??? An example; on February 15th, I bought 12.66 gallons of gas (at a Wawa) and would have had to pay 41.77. However the deal I was given that day according to the app I would’ve gotten 25¢ off of each gallon. Do you know how much I paid in the end? $41.40. Not only did they deceive me, but I paid for ONLY 37 ¢ off! Don’t tell me I’m getting 25 cents off PER gallon if it’s only in reality 2¢ per gallon off PLUS 1¢ off per gallon due to the deal. I will not be using this platform ever nor will I ever recommend it to anyone after this issue is resolved.
  • Gas buddy is not your friend

I've been using gas buddy for a couple years now. One thing is for certain, the prices are too often bogus. Crossing town to save money is important these days. But people are gaming the system to screw others or draw you in to their station. The prevalence of this suggests gas buddy is not removing users who miss report gas prices. Not only are gas prices misreported; but, some stations don't even exist! I just went to a station claiming $4.15 for regular (updated over 8 hrs ago)....it's $5.15 - and has been all week.
