  • Internet connection not working with app

    By Buttlord
I just purchased this app and the search feature doesn't work. It says to check my internet connection, which I've done. My connection works on other apps in my phone, so the problem is on Pocket Cast's end. So glad I paid $3.99 for an app that doesn't work. Robbery. I want my money back.
  • Progress bar

    By Oliver1222
A little progress bar in the watch app would be a great plus
  • Was Great. Now Horrible.

    By JRF_USA
This was my number 1 app for many years. Now it’s garbage. Settings are not intuitive, crashes, is a memory hog (check your storage). It’s not even a ghost of its former self. The only thing that’s the same is the name.
  • Version 7 😱

    By TheReluctantReviewer625
Wait..what?! This app had a 3.2 stars and many thousands of ratings! You reset the ratings?! Now 3.4 stars and #1 in News in the App Store?! You gotta be kidding me! Rating is now in line with other NPR apps, regardless of company trolls and fake reviews. I've moved on from what was once my most used app. Joe might be a nerd but his podcatcher (icatcher!) app is first rate.
  • what happened

    By jasper eli
I’ve used pocketcasts for about a year and a half and loved it, I hated the redesign but stuck it out and eventually got used to it. However since then this app has begun to crash multiple times a day, sometimes requiring restarting the whole phone to get it going again. When it’s not crashing it locks up for 10 to 20 seconds without recognizing any inputs. Sheer laziness is the only reason I haven’t begun the search for an alternative
  • A once great app ruined by a catastrophic update

    By Jehusbehzbndbsjbd
I just have to rewrite my review because it is ridiculous that this app still exists in the ruined state it has been in since update 7. This app is unintuitive and now requires way too many clicks. Based on their responses online, the developers seem to be too arrogant to take feedback in any meaningful way. If you don’t like the app, it isn’t that they are bad at design and development, it is that you are just too thick to understand their changes. I chose this app (the old app that was actually well designed) BECAUSE I don’t want to understand complicated functions. I want a simple, intuitive app for podcasts. I have almost completely quit using the app now, but I’m struggling to find a replacement. People keep suggesting iCatcher but that’s really not what I’m going for either. I truly wish they would release version 6 under another name for free. After all, this isn’t the same app at all.
  • Crashes many times a day

    By RoxyPhillips
Used to live this app, but now disappointed by the new design and how often it crashes. Just playing a podcast takes way too many steps. The new Up Next design is annoying. I’d try out another app that’s better and free.
  • Used to be the best

    By Pikeville21
Developers are too obtuse or prideful to admit they have ruined a once excellent application. Actual reviews have started disappearing, and now the most recent ones are obviously fake.
  • An ambitious app with glaring flaws

    By WillmSan
Many have written reviews regarding how capable and powerful an app this is, in particular for “power listeners”. They are not wrong in their assessment. The challenge(for me, at least) is not the capabilities, but the execution. First, some changes to perhaps enhance user experience are more frustrating than helpful and others continue to be a problem. Some examples that leave this app as average are: If listening to a podcast, the app will continually pull up the current podcast while trying to navigate through other parts of app. There are several bugs when streaming to Chromecast. Play next is broken, auto archive after listen is broken. Some podcast will not even play to chromecast, even after downloading and may even cause app to freeze. Requiring user to close app. Some of the above issues extend to CarPlay as well.
  • Used to be great, but not anymore

    By jansoucek
The app is getting worse with every update. Not only is the UI much less ergonomic than it used to be, the app is also BUGGY AS HELL! It is crashing all the time, the play button is unresponsive 80% of the time, the Watch app got slow also within the last few updates. All around bad. Last month is especially bad when it comes to crashes and unresponsiveness. Sometimes I have to force quit the app only to get it to pause the audio. Terrible quality control.
