  • Went from Premiere Pro to Final Cut.

The best decision was going from premiere to final cut.. I have almost every single tool and set up as premiere, but for 1/100th of the cost. I can literally do every single thing I did on premiere, with final cut... and final cut it way more user friendly as well. Also, the autosave for final cut is AMAZING. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've gone 30-1hour on premiere, and it crashed on me.. not saving anything.. all the work I did for the last hour was gone. Not with final cut, It has an instant save after every move and it is amazing. I highly suggest final cut over premiere.

I've been using FCP since 2012. I've made tons of videos from 2 minutes to over 2 hours in length. It's the only video editor I've used because of it's ease of use and professional end results. It's fantastic!

In the past, Final Cut Pro was very useful due to the convenience of cut editing. Now, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve have caught up about everything, yes, also in cut editing. The flexibility of MacBook is no longer an advantage. The system that prevents me from working on my iMac after opening and closing the (M1) library on MacBook is inconvenient, and there have been no updates regarding this issue. I have been using the Apple ecosystem, but I do not want to use Final Cut anymore. Although it was a waste of money, I am satisfied with making a decision that I am sure I will not return to.

I haven't gone too deep in to exploring the new features in this version of FCP. I had upgradedd my OS to Sonoma from Big Sur and soon I found out that unless I upgraded my FCP for $299 I was locked out. I had wanted to use the features like object tracking and advanced 3D titles so I guess I can explore while eating rice and beans for a while. ; ) It's amazing the performance I'm getting out of a 2020 Mac Mini with FCP. I never stall or crash.
