eharmony is a scam
By Rpt3.0
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Over a year ago now, I set up an account for my elderly and technologically illiterate father (he's 70) so that he could find love. His experience was totally lackluster (mostly just scam attempts). Honestly, over the course of the year that he used it, I feel like he got totally scammed - he did not, in any capacity, have the user experience he was being sold on.
Come to find out, payments are setup on auto-renewal - neither he, nor I, were aware of the fact that he was enrolled in their auto-renewal program. I've also moved away since he started his account (I live 1200 miles away now) and I've been unable to help him manage his account in any capacity.
My dad lives off of Social Security. He wanted to find love - and now his ignorance is being aggressively extorted by this organization for $500.
I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone. My dad, although financially pretty strapped, is a good person who takes care of himself (he's a health nut). Not one date was facilitated through this app. In my time helping him navigate the app, I only ever witnessed fake accounts soliciting him for money.
Pathetic. This company is pathetic.
Edit - needless to say, I'll be taking the time to report eHarmony to the BBB, the FDCPA, FTC and the CFPB. I'm happy to extract as much time, money and effort from this organization that seems absolutely disinterested in the fact that my father doesn't want their service any more, hasn't used their service in months and - more than anything else - my father can't afford an app that doesn't do anything other than facilitate conversations with people trying to scam him.
Subscription ended and now I’m flooded with interest and minimal before.

Very disappointed with Eharmony I decided to commit and invest for six months, which was a lot of money. I found it slow unengaging, and the gentleman not so much forthcoming with anything engaging.
Was very shocked it was just like any other app. Couldn’t wait for that subscription to expire.
It finally did so now I guess I’m giving the limited access in my inbox and likes are full, which I cannot see unless I purchase again which I will not.
Where were all these people for the last 6 months?
DO NOT SIGN UP!

Please everyone be very careful and do not give money to this site. They are a horrible company to work with. No real costumer support and extremely deceptive business practices.
Very poor performance.

You are foolish to use this app. Very expensive. Most of the profiles are fake. Worst app out there.
No good

Ya I regret paying for a subscription … it’s a total waste. I’m gonna try to get my money back.
Cost for data

I think the app is a bit outdated, way over priced. Users provide so much data by inputting information and yet they want to charge a high price. It’s unfortunate.
The Worst Dating App

Very expensive and provided very few quality matches.
Lousy dating app

The eHarmony app is costly and inconsistent. I do not tecommend it, and I will not renew it. I paid $390 for 6 months- the shortest available subscription. It’s supposed to send 3 “featured profiles” daily, but you must LIKE one, or REMOVE one permanently in order to see the next one. Also my seach area preference was within 30 miles. I get “featured profiles” from 100 miles away, and from several different states. I have had 3 catfish chat with me, one of whom I found out is a career criminal with multiple arrests. Overall it’s a waste of time and money 👎🏼👎🏼
Horrible

Most apps are free with extra benefits if you pay but this one won’t even allow you to message, OR SEE ANYONES PICTURE. Without paying for AT LEAST a 6 month subscription at like $25 a month. No one is going to be on a dating app for 6 months. You can’t even do a monthly which most apps do because obviously you’re trying to date someone and get off, this app really tries to keep you on there and not get you your best match. They just want money. Aweful app
