I work on a MAC and have used Excel since the old Works program went away. I use it for data storage, addresses, inventory, to do lists, & genealogical information. Other programs did those things, but died or were no longer supported--Excel has remained my constant. Between Excel & Word I can do most anything I want to do with the occassional PowerPoint for a conference. I continue to learn new features

Why you cant fix opening csv files?

When you open csv file in excel it opens it with wrong encoding and you should manually create empty excel file and importing your existed csv file into this new excel file

Forced to Purchase a 365 Subscription...

I'm not happy with the fact that I'm being forced to purchase a 365 subscription when I've already purchased the indivdual excel application on my previous defunct apple macbook. I would like to go back to just purchasing the application and it's mine for life.

If you've used Excel for Windows STAY AWAY from this stripped down version.
If you've only used Excel on Mac, try Excel for Windows to find out what you're missing and how much productivity you've LOST!!!
Microsoft Office for Mac should be FREE OF CHARGE, it is TOTALLY STRIPPED OUT compared to Microsoft Office for Windows!!!
