אין ספק שנוח ומהיר יותר להתעדכן בחדשות באמצעות האפליקציה. אבל זה ממש מציק לראות פרסומת בכל פעם שאני פותח את האפליקציה.

The app crashes and doesn’t deliver notifications. Going back to the plain website. Update: app does deliver “notifications” (after I log out), but instead of delivering timely news about actual events, it notifies me of random stories that Haaretz posted hours ago. Haaretz deserves a better app.

A lot of ads and pop ups. Also, doesn’t always open all the articles, and unclear if the Marker is also available.

I had an App Store subscription for Haaretz, I’m in the US and have a US number. The app or the website stopped honoring that subscription, and did not send the text (SMS) to the US number on my account, so, basically, I wasted the subscription money as the content is not accessible.

The content is good, this review is on the app, not its content. The app is not compatible with the iPhone’s native Spoken Content feature. Every time I select using it to listen to an article within the app, it navigates to another article rather than reading the one I was on, and speaks the “content” of only the three buttons and then stops (🤯). To me, this is a go-no-go feature, as not having it working well makes the content completely not accessible to me. BTW, I opted to use it on the web version, and i find that it consistently makes my phone freeze and requires a hard restart to make it functional again. For the record, I use this feature constantly, and it never happens. (iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16.2). Ultimately, Haaretz may have great content, but I can’t consume it, so, unfortunately, I’ll have to cancel my subscription.

I like differing opinions from all sides, but this even colors the news stories with subjective remarks as to motive of IDF shooter in one article and other subjective innuendos throughout. This is strictly a hit piece against Netanyahu and the new government. Additionally it is very difficult to cancel a subscription. I’ve been trying without success. Beware automatic renewal!
