Amazon Prime Video used to be a great streaming service, around 2018/19, that’s gone steadily downhill in the years since. The worst of it though typically was confined to the ui. But now they make even the basic video playback painful to use. You cannot watch anything without that awful button appearing at just the worst moment telling you to skip the tv intro for no good reason. It’s obnoxious and totally takes me out of the mood. It’s like a turn off for tv. I don’t know who invented such a pointless “feature” —there’s no reason you couldn’t just skip forward 10s a few times if you really wanted to skip so badly—but nobody ever would want to use such a preposterous feature in the first place. The theme tune and intro is an iconic thing. You look forward to it. You get a release of emotion. Often cliffhangers from the teaser will build up to it, and that tune kicking in is the release. You can’t remove such an integral part! And asking me to just endure the obnoxious, ugly button is not a reasonable solution, to pretend like it’s not there. It’s a giant wart on the screen whose very existence hurts the experience even if you never click it, because it suggests that skipping is something you might ever want to do, and that suggestion is offensive. It’s insulting to the quality of the program I’m watching, implying it’s not that important to be taken seriously. I seriously hope Amazon developers take note of this problem and at the very least add in an option in settings to disable the button, if not remove it entirely in a future update. Autoplaying videos was similarly distasteful in the past when they were forced on us, but Amazon listened, and autoplay later became optional and able to be turned off. I hope the same happens for skip intro/recap buttons. On a positive note, I actually really like the newest ui in this latest redesign. As I said earlier, it had gone in a wrong direction before, but now it’s getting better. It harkens back to the iOS 6 and earlier days, when graphics had depth, gradients, 3D effects, shadows, etc. and looked very polished and professional. Just too bad that stuff doesn’t matter much when the actual video playback has issues.

I have really enjoyed the variety of documentaries, series and movies. Prime is one of the best streaming channels available.

Awesome movies & Series for Everyone of all Ages

Are you guys going to eventually fix the glitch between 2 users continue to watch list being is switched. And most importantly the videos not playing and just buffering.

I’m already paying for Prime, and now I have to sit through commercials every 20 minutes while watching a movie. This completely ruins the experience. I understand ads on a free or cheaper service, but charging customers for a subscription and then interrupting movies with frequent commercials feels like double dipping. If I’m already paying for Prime, I shouldn’t have to pay even more just to get the ad-free experience. Very disappointing. Prime Video used to be one of the reasons to keep Prime. Now the constant commercials are making me consider canceling it altogether.

You pay for streaming services, ONLY to watch ad’s????? What’s wrong with this picture??? Seriously…. I’m watching The Cowboys movie w John Wayne and they hardly get through their line let alone a complete scene and the ad’s are longer than what I just watched in the movie!! Not only that but the ads are ran two and THREE times before the movie resumes!!! Literally watched ZERO MINUTES & 28 SECONDS of the movie and 4 minutes and 52 seconds of ad’s!! Apple needs to get involved as well as the FCC!! Not to mention the ad’s are absolutely gut wrenching STUPID!! Never in my life have I ever seen so much stupidity or have I EVER seen so much damn GREED!!! Shame on you Amazon!!!! Go & build another clock in a mountain BECAUSE the world needs it!!! Idiot!!

I like it because of all the sports that they carry and all the games and teams. and keep up with good work

What’s not to love? Literally any movie anytime. I LOVE it here!!!🫡❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
