I’ve always had very mid experiences on dating apps lol, it usually just makes for fun casual dating or interesting date stories lol, but I didn’t want to give up! I met a guy a year and a half ago here on Hinge, thinking it would be just another casual fun thing. But he turned out to be the absolute love of my life 🥺 and we are now engaged 🥰❤️

Apart from the fact that real people are not nice, hinge also profits from unsuspecting people by showing, advertising, and marketing fake and ai generated profiles based on your interests for profit. They sell your private messages for advertising and use your profile to market it however they wish. You might be unsuspectedly marketed to someone who is not in your area for their profit or engagement on the platform and you may never have known it or interacted with the person.

I think they buy their reviews like an influencer buys followers. Everyone I know who uses the app hates it. I remember when it used to be unlimited likes now I have to buy that. I remember when I could actually use all the filters now I have to buy that. Of course it’s the app designed to be deleted cause you’re never gonna find love on there.

I was a longtime user of Hinge (2021-2024) and I always made sure to approach things respectfully. After all, I’m on these apps trying to meet people and make connections. Come to find out one day I open the app and I’m randomly banned. The screen does not say what you violated or what got you banned, just that you’re banned permanently. Naturally, I tried to appeal this since I had no clue what happened to get me banned. I got no response for a long time, and after weeks, I received an email saying something about Tinder use got me banned. Again, I try to keep my messages respectful, so I was confused. I inquired more about what it was specifically that got me banned and I received no reply. Looking around social media, I can see this unjust banning is prevalent with the app and Match Group as a whole. For an app that’s “made to be deleted,” I thought it would be because I’d found something steady, not because of what I can only assume is a technology error and a lack of customer service.
