  • Too many fake profiles

    By EmB732
I downloaded Hinge to try something different. I had done the circuit around Tinder, Bumble, OkCupid, etc; but I thought I would have a different experience on Hinge. Boy...was I right. I matched with a few people and started some conversations. However, I noticed some of my matches said they were US soldiers, one supposedly stationed in Syria. As I conversed with them on and off the app, I noticed a ton of discrepancies in our conversations, and then they started asking for iTunes gift cards. Red flags everywhere. One has tried to convince me that he is the real person I’ve seen pictures of, but a deep dive into Reverse Google Image search has shown me otherwise. Never have I encountered so many fake profiles in my life. I’ve had better luck connecting with real people on Tinder than on Hinge. If they made the app more secure, I would give it another shot. Like Bumble has the verified profile feature where people have to send in pictures of themselves with not so usual poses to confirm identity. Until then, I won’t be using Hinge anymore.

Literally every girl I talked to was a fake profile asking me to send them money ! I talked to 5 or 6 girls they were alllll fake it’s horrible. I would recommend not even trying it because i donno where my data is going now to !
  • Great App!

I wanna start by saying I love how the app looks but I can’t say that I love the app because I don’t. It has the usual issues of an ill fitted match pool. Most of the guys in my area are really creepy looking or their profile is a joke which I know that the app developers cannot control. It would be nice if they included a word minimum word limit on the required prompts for the profiles in an effort to eliminate the annoying joke profiles or put a face recognizer in for the photos. Or maybe dating apps just aren’t for me 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • Needs work

Basic issues with the app, so profiles don’t load and the buttons are too tiny for my fat fingers sometimes. I’m also frustrated there’s no area to just give a little bio of myself. You only get three prompts of your choosing. The only good thing is there seems to be more people on it than bumble.

I have been on this app for a couple of months. So far I have talked to three men who have acted like they have fallen in love with me after a day and then they say they need help. They proceed to ask me for ITunes cards, money, and now my personal cell phone account information because he is in the military and his commander said it was ok for him to do this because their phones have been hacked. All of their stories are very sad, from one who lost his wife in a car accident, to two military men on a peace keeping mission who have been cheated on while away. This app needs to be deleted as I am concerned its has been hacked by fraudulent people creating profiles attempting to take advantage of people. DON’T BE FOOLED!!!
  • Best dating app

This app has so many more features than all the others. People are far more responsive and I’ve had a number of quality dates come out of it. 10/10 would recommend

Requires more then a swipe, messaging can be on the buggy side though
  • Decent app but too many notifications!

    By Meghan0421
I’ve had some good matches on here and I enjoy using it but there are way too many notifications. When someone likes you you get a notification that doesn’t go away until you find them (and sometimes they don’t come up in the search for a while)! When someone messages you you get a notification until you respond. I wish you had more control over what your alerts are for.
