  • It’s okay. But be careful with the charge after free trial.

I used the app on a free trial but I forgot about when it ends and usually some apps would send a warning message about your free subscription ending soon. However, Noom did not send an email or message from the app itself to warn me. They automatically charge you $149 for a 6-month subscription without informing you about the automatic charge. Also, the way to cancel the subscription is complicated and to access account is confusing. Just beware of the charge.
  • Paying for services I do not receive

I was suppose to be assigned a coach and group on day 15, but this hasn’t happened. I’m on day twenty. My goal specialist and IT support aren’t helpful. I want a refund for the days I can’t access the features I paid for and that this app advertised for. False advertising.
  • Decent program, poor app, and scam like qualities

    By laurairene073
I’ve had this app for five months now. The food program is good and the food logging method is fun and the colors are very helpful. The daily articles can be motivating but also a hassle when there’s so many in a day. The app isn’t very user friendly though. It’s difficult to navigate even after five months. The recipes are only sorted by calories which means they’re always in the same order. You have to scroll through 20 soups before getting to an entree regardless of how you search. The really horrid part is how they charge. They constantly say it’s 20 dollars a month. It’s affordable. As soon as your free trial ends, they charge you 129.00 for four months. It’s shady. They tell you one thing, and do another and they won’t give you a refund unless you asked to cancel before they charged you. But you’re sitting there thinking you’re only going to be charged 20 for one month. It’s not worth it.
  • Waste of time

Great for logging meals. Total waste of time if you are looking for actual guidance and help. The “guides” are bots. With the responses I received totally duped. If I could post screenshots of the messages I received I would. Total scam. Requested my free trail to end before I could be charged.
  • Very Sneaky In Charging You

    By SuperDisappointed2019
I have NEVER written a negative review even when someone has deserved it but I was just charged $159 because it was one day after the 14 day trial period and I was not aware it was an automatic sign up. I dont even understand how they can just blindly charge you! It was NOT UPFRONT and I was not made aware of any NO REFUND POLICY when signing up for the trial. This is really unfair and I feel very taken advantage of.
  • Scam!!

    By Unsatisfied and lied to
Do not ever buy into this program!! They are scumbags!! The initial enrollment states that the program is 4 months. That is a lie!!! They will charge your card automatically for another 4 months, without authorization!! Then when you tell them that they did not have your permission to draw money from your account, they say “sorry we do not offer refunds!” Go to hell Noom!! My Fitness Pal and Lose It are both better apps for 100% free, unless you choose to upgrade the account.
  • Dont bother

I tried this app on the idea that this was a different approach to weight loss. I found out that it wasn’t very different than the My Plate app (which is free) with the exception that you are provided with a coach. Btw my experience with the coaches wasn’t much different than the others who wrote reviews before me. For a free trial I would imagine that the coaches would be more involved in the front end to encourage you to continue with the program. Yet I found myself checking in with her more only to get a response days later. Anyway here the issue. When the trail was over I forgot to cancel (life got in the way that day, these things happen). I saw a charge of $129 the day after and quickly cancelled and asked for a refund. I got an email saying sorry no refunds. So I had emailed back (It was a real person that emailed me back) asking for an explanation of the charges. I initially didn’t remember what I was charged for because initially when I signed up I was segued quickly into the questionnaire for my profile. Also I don’t see an email confirming the type of program that I supposedly signed up for. Was it monthly, quarterly, annually what? What was the payment breakdown, and can I just pay for a small retro active fee for cancelling only a day after the trail was over. Btw other companies will do this to explain what happened and if any resolution can be made. Well I got no response back from her at all. Even checked my junk folder like they tell you to and nothing. Next day I emailed them through this time through PayPal once again asking for details. I got and email saying that I would get a response which never came. Now because the trail was over I still had the app so I could try to speak to someone and I got an alert that the group chat was now open. Everyone responded hello to each other and I responded that I needed someone from billing to contact me ASAP! Well all I got was radio silence! Upon further investigation into review for Noom I realized that I’m not the only one that this has happened to. If you no longer choose to participate in the program they have no time for you. Customer service is terrible they seem to have forgotten that in order to be a successful business not only must you pay attention to your satisfied customers, but it is more important for you to focus on your dissatisfied customers in order to improve your business. People make mistakes. Isn’t that was this program is about? This company has only been out for five years which is the infant stage for a company. Clearly they forgot that in this day and age where customer reviews have gone to another level because of the internet that their customer service has to be in another level as well. The days of shoo-ing away dissatisfied customers is long gone. Especially when all they do is just ask for a simple explanation as to what happened. Don’t worry I figured thinks out no thanks to you and I’m dealing with it accordingly. My advice to everyone out there. Use the My plate app. It’s free and you hold yourself accountable. The coaches a noom don’t do anything anyway.
  • Thieves with poor customer service

This app is so-so, not very effective. The food logging aspect is moderately easier to log food than on MyFitnessPal. However, MyFitnessPal is free and Noom charges $129 in three month increments. They start you off with a “2 week trial” for $1 in order to gain access to charge you automatically afterwards. The app is difficult to navigate your account status to find out how much you will get charged and when. They do not send an courtesy notification the day before to notify you that your trial is over and you are going to be charged $129 NONREFUNDABLE fee. Once I received the email stating I was already charged and money was deducted from my account, they do not have any personal recourse for obtaining a refund when canceling in a reasonable amount of time. Their website has an email that only sends automated responses saying they won’t refund. I hate this company and I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING TANGLED WITH THEM!!
