  • Great, but...

Word of the day is terrible. Today’s word was literally “cynide process”. As someone learning Italian, when will I ever use or come across that word? They don’t know their audience. It doesn’t have to be a super simple word but they should be able to easily find out what are the most looked up words and feature those instead.
  • One thing wrong.

Headphones are needed to hear audio. That means a prolonged hunt throughout the house so I don’t bother.
  • Best Italian-English, English-Italian Dictionary

This is my go to dictionary for Italian studies and when I am abroad in Italy. I have it in hard copy (2 editions) on both my iPad and iPhone. In addition to having the most comprehensive list of Italian words, it provides numerous very useful examples of usage and derivative expressions. It also speaks with authority, in print, on correct usage. The audio portion, however, does not work on my iPhone for either the Italian or the other English dictionary I have purchased. If the audio component is important you may wish to consider another app for Apple iPhones. The audio does work on my iPad.
  • Crashes and doesn’t update

  • Nice reference app

I enjoy using the Italian dictionary so far. Easy to use. It gets only 4 stars due to the fact that I have to on a regular basis take a word and look up the English word as they don’t have the meaning of a English word that I am unfamiliar with like psoas.
  • Can improve

Not a great dictionary, very disappointed. Please Improve quality. I regret paying for it.
  • Not user friendly

By Why why why why ????
Unlike Collins’ app, this app does not automatically detect whether the word you have entered is Italian or English. You have to switch the translation direction first. For instance, if you are pointing from English to Italian and you type an Italian word, it stares at you blankly. This small thing ends up being very inconvenient in frequent use.
  • The best Italian dictionary app.

I’ve tried a few but this one can deal with a variety of odd translation questions that others cannot.
  • Solid, not spectacular

Extensive definitions and examples. They should have a function to quiz you on the different folders. SpanishDict has this function and it’s very helpful
  • Extremely useful, has every word I’ve checked so far.

Good dictionary. Really wish that copying text worked.
