  • Splendid

Only downside is the pestering for ratings. Otherwise a masterful app, effortlessly capturing the warp and woof, the yin and yang, the magnificence that is the English language. And users weep with gratitude...😁

Love this dictionary. The number of entries, the etymology, and the ability to copy and paste make it a wonderful resource. It is my favorite dictionary!

    Great app
  • Disappointed, and underwhelmed!

    By I-Opine-Again
I expected excellence from the OED short. But the lack of examples (using the word In a sentence) is disheartening, the give up on the fascinating etymological origins of words and the root meanings, and the lack of pronunciation offerings is unacceptable (sure have 1 for British and another for American... your OED!). Could have never expected a product so poor coming from the pinnacle.

  • Just one more thing

Highly convenient! The one thing I miss about the print edition is the detailed etymology and history.

The app works good and the dictionary is great. No complaints
  • Ideal for reading substantive tomes

Am reading a book with plenty of specialized vocabulary and have found this app really useful. Did you know that some pilings on bridges are called starlings? I didn’t! Instead of going down an internet rabbit hole, I get quick and specific definitions and derivations. Love it!
  • So, so as an app

Not as good as the hardcover copy I have; additionally there is no pronunciation key.
