    I bought this app for my human nutrition school project. The app never gave me any of its premium features after I paid for it. It has been over a week, I still have no features after restoring the app, deleting it and reinstalling it, trying to buy it a second time, and emailing the app creators about it. My card has been charged, I am disappointed and I want my money back. I am hoping they will email be back finally after seeing this review. Do not buy.

    This app is much needed...and so well thought out!! Any nutrition tracker apps I’ve seen are only for macros (protein, fat, carbs, sugar, etc). But I’m not interested in those....They’re so easy to track on your own anyway. The thing I was looking for was something to show all the micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. And that’s what this app specializes in. This thing is phenomenal. It has a great selection of food when you’re trying to input food into your diary. But the things that blows me away the most is the attention to detail and the user-friendly interface. Any nutrient you are curious about, you can click on and it will bring you to a whole page of information like what it does for your body, what the signs and symptoms are of deficiency and toxicity, what foods are high in said nutrient, etc. And the whole foods like an apple or spinach even go into further detail and you can click on the “tips” tab and they tell how to select them at the store, preparation, cooking, and much more! Bravo guys!! This is truly a fabulous app!! <3

    As someone who paid for the pro version, I expected this to be my to-go app for reviewing my intake of nutrients. Unfortunately, the app is fatally flawed in calculating nutrients based on user submitted data. I told the app a certain cereal I eat contains 10% of one’s iron needs based on a 2000 calorie diet with a 58 gram serving. I then told the app I had eaten 78 grams of the cereal told me I had eaten 30% of my iron needs. I’m most certainly not a tiny man who only eats 2000 calories. The app clearly has a bug in its calculations. When the app is finally fixed I will change my review because other than that it does what it says it does.
  • Not not very organized/ limited food library in their system

    I had to spend a lot of time inputting food data as their library is limited I don't find this app very organized. It is hard to go through your days worth of input/ food eaten because it is not divided by meals (lunch, dinner, snacks etc) but rather all the food is lumped together over the whole day. I stopped using it after a week and got a different app where I could really see my daily inputs organized and understand them.

    Hubby has Chronic Kidney Disease and must track micro-nutrients. This app gives me a format to enter my own foods and recipes that include nutritional info for potassium and phosphorus, which is critical. I do choose USDA items over User Added as 99.9 times the users did not add anything beyond the food labels which omit those items more often than not. The recipe feature allows me to calculate true nutrition by adding ingredients with a full spectrum of micro-nutrients.

    Poor interface and you cannot do anything without upgrading. at least myfitnesspal lets you add data without paying for it... plus, this app is really ugly, and not at all user friendly.

    This app is good for the most part, but the developers desperately need to figure out a way to differentiate sugars naturally found in fruits from the “bad” sugars because it gives a skewed view of your diet. A barcode scanner and compatibility with FitBit would be ideal. It’s annoying to constantly be adding in the nutrition info. When you pay for an app, you expect this stuff to be worked out.

    When you are hungry; it’s usually because you are lacking in certain nutrients. People are wasting money, and potentially damaging their health with unnecessary supplements. The Wholesome ap lets you input your diet and drill down to the specific minerals and nutrients to see what you are lacking. I was using the USDA ap, but it was discontinued, and Wholesome is way more easy to use!
