  • This developer cares

    By Evan Lewis
More importantly than the fact that this app is the best, Marco cares greatly about his customers and doing the right thing for the podcasting medium. You get more than you pay for in the app itself, but you also support a great developer and encourage the progress of kind, ethical business practices.
  • Pretty solid and less horrible than most podcasting apps.

    I’m pretty impressed so far.

  • Great app!

I’ve tried several podcast apps, this is by far my favorite. Very user friendly and customizable. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves podcasts.
  • Podcast Organization at its best

Love this App. Finally a way to organize Podcasts into manageable lists! Customize List Names. Plus it has a cool App name.
  • Great app! I love Smart Speed!

I love the Smart Speed feature so much. Listening to two 30-minute podcast episodes on my 45 minute commute to work is amazing! The one feature I would say I’m missing is the ability to create a playlist with just the most recent, or oldest episode of podcasts instead of taking all episodes. This way I can get a bit more of a rotation going automatically. But still, 5 stars for sure.
  • Best Podcast App

    By Drawde99
This is still the greatest podcast app. I have tried multiple podcast apps. Overcast is by far the best. I enjoy the interface. The Smart Speed feature is really nice. I previously paid to unlock all the features and now happily became a patron.

  • Gold standard for app development

There’s just no reason not to use Overcast. It’s what every app should be: a well-considered set of sensible defaults augmented by a ridiculous amount of customization. The voice rate compression is so insanely good you don’t even notice it... until you hear a podcast you listen to being played at the same speed on the native Podcasts app because your wife refuses to listen to reason and just install Overcast for car trips. To me, this is a pretty powerful confirmation of the app’s strengths: they’re seamless enough that you think you’re just hearing a well produced audio track until you’re exposed to what it would sound like without Marco’s magic. It’s by far my favorite Podcast app, and I devoutly wish its strengths could be incorporated into audiobook players as well.
