    The app is OK though it keeps crashing on Apple TV. BritBox does not crash like this. And I don’t have to keep re-entering my account. Also they have Jonathan Creek and Rosemary and Thyme. Acorn does not. Also, I highly suggest you remove the date and time from the iPad video streaming. It’s really annoying to see the date and time when you are trying to watch the movie or TV show. BritBox doesn’t do that either. Also, Agatha Raisin should come on once per week and not once per month. That’s horrible. I had to go to imdb to find out when the next show will air. And there is no trailer for the next episode. Just wrong for paying customers like me.

    EDIT: The developers fixed the issues and all is well. 👍 This app, which I continue to be charged for even though it’s useless, is in need of serious help. I’m just unsubscribing until y’all can get it figured out.

  • Known problem with Apple

    Cancel ASAP. Do not cancel thru Apple. Acorn will lie to you and say you must do it thru Apple. THAT IS A LIE. Call the number below. Keep calling. They will try lying and say it isn’t the correct number. NONE OF THE PHONE NUMBERS ONLINE ARE CORRECT. Call 844-734-8466. After speaking to multiple reps (difficult since it cuts you off), I learn Apple products often won’t work. They said it had JUST happened but their own website had a different story. Did they offer me a prorated refund for no service? No of course not. Run away. Something is wrong at this company. If you complain on FB and write to the CEO in London, they will actually fall all over themselves. Too little too late.

    Their customer service is THE WORST. No matter what your question, they write back “check our schedule” ...and worst take days to respond with that no answer. Do yourself a favor, & find the show you want on Britbox, Hoopla or DailyMotion
  • Good shows, good app

    The app had been working fine for months. I could easily use it with chromecast to cast it to my tv. Lately it won’t cast. It seems like it’s going to work, shows the acorn name on the tv screen, and then the name of the show. Then it just stops; the acorn name comes back on the screen, and the show stops playing. I really hate this. Acorn does have some good shows. Originally I got it just to watch the Vera episodes that were not on Britbox, but then I found quite a few other shows I like so I decided to keep it. Update 10/15/18: Well now the Chromecast icon doesn’t show up even though on their website they say they’ve fixed the problem! The only way I can watch it now is online. That’s really inconvenient. The programs get 5 stars. The app gets 1 star. Update 11/22/18: I should have updated my review sooner. Acorn has been working fine for the last couple of weeks. I have no complaints. It casts fine and I like the interface. Thanks for fixing it! The programs get 5 stars. The app gets 5 stars.

    App doesn’t open on iPad. Deleted app and then re-installed it. Still not working. App was updated to 3.0.7 version. Have had my account for a few years. Continues to say email and password are incorrect. This is a recent development.
  • Chromecast feature broken

    Loved the app before the recent update. But if it doesn’t cast from IOS 12 to Chromecast successfully, it has no value for me. With the current update, it starts to load the show and then fails. I have watched features on your app break, get fixed and break again... As a lead software engineer, it appears your regression testing is woefully lacking or just non-existant. It will be the sole reason for driving me and my friends to other OTT providers. 10/7/2018 update: so I the release notes for yesterday’s release says ‘maintenance’ but don’t acknowledge the fact they dropped feature support for Chromecast. Watch it on iOS 12 and rotate the phone e to horizontal display and you loose video playback all together. This group consistently lowers the bar, and still fails to achieve. 11/19/2018 update: the app now streams to Chromecast however after a few episodes streaming starts pausing intermittently and degrades until the streaming has to be cancelled and restarted. I’ve bumped the review from 1 star to 2. I can’t bump it any higher because with such poor quality control there’s no telling if it will work in coming updates. 11/20/2018 update: and we’re back down to 1 star. The service worked yesterday. They billed my account $4.99 and today i can’t watch anything and it wants me to re-subscribe at $6.99
