  • Best Recipe App

I’ve collected, written, saved, traded, given away literally thousands of recipes in my lifetime. I’ve used over 20 programs and applications for saving, analyzing, creating, sizing recipes. After all this time, I keep coming back to The NY Times RECIPE App. It has world class recipes, are easily the best recipes and are awesome for a base place to start before you adjust them to make them your own. I try and look for other places that have as many world class bakers, cooks and chefs, but NYT is still the best. I can take the most complicated foods and find easy to understand step by step recipes for recreating something eaten pretty much anywhere. If you are wondering if it’s worth the money, know this: I used to have over 700 cookbooks. Everything from professional chef texts from CIA, Johnson & Wales and BIC, to church fundraiser and Jr League annuals. I now have less than 40, and 12 of them revolve around what the NYTimes have published since 1972. Never let it be said “it’s just a paper”. That’s like saying Julia Childs or Anthony Bourdain we’re just cooks.
