Warning: the second “fact” I got was a fake health fact. Also it promoted that it could do it on the lock screen on the wallpaper, but this is not an option. I cancelled my subscription after that. If you are going to be about facts, make sure they are all accurate.

I started getting skeptical when it’d show me facts like ‘’you’re more likely to be accepted into Harvard then Walmart’’ from a study all the way from 2014.. most facts with links to back them up are expired or take you to brightside or some other slop clickbaity site. Credit is due cause some facts take you to real gov studies. The final straw though was “Shop with Honey to get the best coupons collected and applied to every online purchase you make.” Atp I’ll just collect fun facts organically rather then wasting my notification bar for ad space for another greedy company :P
  • the facts aren’t even true..?

So I went to try the free trial because you literally HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS APP (stupid by the way) and they immediately took the whole $33 for the yearly subscription even though it said $0.00 billed today and the rest would be billed three days later. NOPE. and guess what, I ONLY GET THREE DAYS OF ACCESS FOR $33!! What a scam🙄 just look up your own facts

While this app works well in visual design, variability, and aesthetics, it doesn’t do too well with the actual facts it uses (specifically, the sources it draws from). As someone who is an avid reader of all things interesting, I love to read more on cool topics— to which this app may introduce you to many (fantastic). However, I question the validity of the sources used to obtain a lot of the facts, especially from websites that will pull from third-party sources who usually end up oversimplifying or skewing results to generate better engagement. The other thing regarding the sources used, is that while it’s intuitive to find the direct source, there is no direct way for individuals to report a fact for misleading content/ misinformation (a lot of which is arguably more harmful than helpful, especially in regards to psychological and scientific-related facts). It would be best to have a more thorough/ vetted process of facts, as well as a way to “expand” the notification to show not only more detail on individual facts, but also show the direct source link through the banner notifications without having to unlock your phone to access the information (ie; citing the source in APA/ MLA).
  • It’s a FACT!!

This is my most used app with Google being my next. Which in my case go together and create what I call “rabbit trailing”, writing, saving, and learning all sorts of very interesting and different types things. So if you were to ask my husband what my #1 hobby is he would say “rabbit trailing”! He even surprises me with notebooks and pens!!

This app is terrible and watch out it doesn’t have a free subscription so make sure you pay attention carefully bc Apple will not help you.
