Love the app

the amount of ads that you have to watch now to do one simple thing to your picture is crazy. not only that, but some features that were free before, you now have to pay for. time to find a new app and delete this one.

This used to be an incredible app but they’ve completely ruined it with ads to use every last function. 90+ seconds of ads to touch up, then another to even save what you’ve done, then another to save the image itself. The developers have gone way too far and destroyed the usability of the app.

ADS, ADS, PREMIUM-ONLY, ADS… this app used to be my favorite touch-up editor. I used it for YEARS (since 2017!) Don’t let the good reviews fool you… those are from before the latest updates. They’re all things I agreed with. I used to recommend Airbrush to everyone. The newer updates have absolutely ruined this app. Every time they update, another free feature goes away. Everything you see on Airbrush used to be free! Now every time an update rolls out, free users lose another feature to the clutches of capitalism. I was tolerating it as every good feature got ripped away from us, until the ads started coming. When you first open the app: ad. When you minimize the app and reopen: ad. When you save a photo: ad. When you use a free feature: ad. Every time. And I’m not talking 5-second skippables. It’s a solid 15-30 seconds, followed by an App Store pop up, and when you close the pop up it replays the ad again. Only after the second time can you close the ad (if the App Store doesn’t pop up again, which has happened). That happens every time you want to use a feature like the color corrector, which is something I often use several instances of to correct hair tone, contour, eye lightness, etc. My phone overheats from having Airbrush open for longer than 3 minutes. I don’t even want to know how much malware is tucked in there, farming our data and shoving ads down our throats. Not to mention, the free features/makeup/filters are scattered around the app in between premium ones. No one-stop shopping allowed, you have to scroll through a hundred filters slowly to look for the handful that don’t have the premium icon. The UI is unintuitive, unprofessional, and unfriendly; on top of the dozen ads I have to get through to edit one photo and the decrease of free features. I’m all for a premium service, but don’t take away free options to make them premium. Add new and innovative things. Airbrush’s devs are no exception to the late-stage capitalism and greedy corporations that plague our planet. It’s been a great few years with you, Airbrush, but I can’t do this anymore. Your greatness has fallen to the schemes of corporate greed. I’ve never written a review like this… that’s how frustrating this app has become. Oh well. Back to the competitors.

I love the app. The app works really well. but it’s just upsetting that everything that was once free. I now have to pay for which is ridiculous. It just proves that companies like these are desperate for money where they’re going to start charging people over things that were free.

This is honestly the best photo editing app I have ever found! Powerful editing tools, filters, touch ups, &/or anything you could ever want/need! STOP paying to try all the cheap filters ones that requires you to PAY/BUY to use each individual tool, piece by piece! Instead, save your money and use it to get a PRO membership to this app! Take a leap of faith and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Everything you need, all in one place!
