  • Good but can use improvement

I have been using the app for several years now as I struggle to maintain some type of consistency with working out. The app is set up well overall and the times feature helps with sounds to let you know to move on to next exercise. I do think it needs to improve when it comes to providing alternative exercises you can change to if you do not have a certain equipment or are not comfortable with the exercise. I thought they had this feature before but maybe it was a fever dream of mine. I think they should have progression of exercises as you get further along in the program. I also don’t think Whitney is very invested in her product, I do not see her promoting this as much anymore. Feels like she lost her passion for it. Overall a good app but can get boring after long term use.
  • Retail management friendly splits.

I absolutely love the ease of the navigation and direction of this app. Very easy to follow and I’ve been using for about six months now. However as someone who works in retail management I would like to see some more full body push/pull split programs. Not hating on leg days, I want a big ole peach like the next girl. But as someone who can get up to 80,000-100,000 (not just walking either) steps on a Friday-Monday a heavy leg day isn’t conducive to my current lifestyle. As everyday is leg day, and some days I just can’t. 😅 I’m currently working through the alive and thrive program with some modifications. Leg day 2 exercises get replaced with upper body movements and same with upper body day, 2 movements get replaced with leg focused. Just food for thought, if not possible, I’ll definitely keep using this app as a guide and timer through my lifts. 😎 because Whitney has created some well rounded challenges and I’m down forty pounds. ❤️

I love this app and it’s helped me so much! I’ve been recently been having issues with it though and I’m hoping an update will help! The videos of the exercises have started to glitch and they don’t show up sometimes and when I’m trying to play some music while using the app my music will stop playing. I’ve tried to fix it several times and it just doesn’t work.
  • Poor performance

This app is riddled with performance issues, mostly saving workouts or saving weight used during workouts. It’s very annoying when I am enjoying the workouts themselves. But for $14 a month, not sure if it’s worth the headache
  • Everything requires premium

Not worth downloading. Everything requires premium membership and it’s much more expensive than other programs.

I've been having a lot of issues with the app logging me out and then not sending me the code to log back in and not recognizing my username and password. It seems to be lagging a lot when I do get it up running. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it's still lagging. The workouts are great if they could fix the app issues.
  • The restart I needed!

I started following Whitney on YouTube over 8 years ago, and loved doing the workouts she would post there. After recently finishing my nursing degree and starting a new career I needed some structure to help me prioritize my health again. I downloaded Alive and it has been helping me prioritize movement and reflection. I enjoy the fact that the exercises are rep based and that I can log how heavy I lift, so that I can track my progress and continue to increase my weight overtime. I find it convenient that I can pause the workout and change my music from my Apple Watch so I don’t have to be glued to my phone screen. I joined a 30-day challenge initially, but I am excited to start one of the longer programs! Definitely worth the $15/month!

I made an account with the alive app and completed the first week free trial. I was happy to to agree to pay the premium fee which I got charged for today. Now I went to login and workout and the app is saying that no account exists with my email, even though I have emails from the app to my account asking for feedback throughout the last week. Once I got charged, it seems my account was deleted. I’m disappointed, as I really enjoyed the app’s content and was looking forward to using it further, but feel very disappointed that I feel as though I slipped through the cracks once they took my money.
  • Good but glitchy

I like the workouts. I like the video examples and the alternative exercises provided. But the app has been very glitchy in the month I’ve been using it. Very difficult to do use tan Apple watch during the workout as it can get out of sync with my phone app. Sometimes the watch doesn’t know I’ve started a workout on my phone. Right now I can’t get into the app at all. At the gym and can’t use it. Very frustrating.
  • Love this app, wish individual rep count would be saved

Love this workout app. The only one I have been able to stay consistent with. I am horrible with staying with a particular workout but love this one. Workouts are just the right amount of time and love that it gives alternatives and has a warm up & cool down included. I also love that you show the exercise, I’m a visual learner so this helps so much. Please allow app to save rep count from previous workout as the weight amount saves. Total reps that you suggest could stay in the same location but were you add weight total this section could stay as the number from previous workouts.
