Runestone gives you the feeling that there is nothing between you and the code you are working on. The app has a native iOS feel, including it makes an iCloud folder so you can easily work on both iPad and iPhone. Even in the limited space of the iPhone display, it‘s a joy to edit code. It’s obvious that this developer cares about making a high quality app. The Premium upgrade was a very easy purchase.

Broken on iPad OS26.6 will not start

runestone is the best editing app you can edit files pretty much everything it sometimes glitches but its still good w app

This mobile IDE is very well thought out and considerate of the engineer - thank you!

I love this app! It’s good, I can run every language, I can code whatever I want! There’s just one little problem, I can’t run my codes, I wish I could, it’s not a bad app, it’s pretty good actually. I just wish I could run it. I’m taking 1 star off because of that but overall good app, recommend (good app). 4 stars.

As soon as I open it up and start to type anything on my Bluetooth keyboard, the app instantly crashes. I brought this up to the developer on X, but he completely ignored me. I guess he cares more about making other little pet projects than fixing his existing ones.

With direct access to iCloud file system on its free version!

Great tool for specialized text editing — exactly what I needed.

This app is such a bargain. You get a really good editor for free, or, even better, the perfect editor for just a few bucks. If there were a Mac version, it would be my default editor alongside vim. This app offers syntax highlighting for every file format I could ever need, even including LaTeX. And the interface, including the file browser, is clean and simple. I wish I had found this app earlier.

I have fallen in love with this app. It is my go-to text app for writing. I do have one feature on my wish list: word count. Can you please add a word count option on the status line? That would take this app over the top for writers. Please?
