  • Long time user / performance is VERY SLOW and no RCS

I am a long time user and appreciate the service. I have a major issue, however. Using text functionality on Google Voice on my iPad is glacial. The app locks up for many seconds every time I use texting. I’m unsure if it’s the volume of texts that have piled up over more than a decade of use, but it’s a disastrous user experience. I deleted and reinstalled the app recently to no avail. I have to presume there’s a bug or lack of product development. Also: NO RCS on GV texting. That is a travesty for a google texting product.
  • Used to be free, now it wants you to pay $20/m

Why would I want to pay a second phone bill just for an app? At this point I might as well get a new phone and pay another phone bill. Used to be free not too long ago but now they’re expecting me to pay $20 a month. No thanks. I used to love this app.
  • Non-responsive with newer iPhones.

  • Second review, no resolution

This is the second review I’m writing because the first was clearly ignored. I literally can’t even use this app because it won’t let me past the login screen. I have an active voice number and account, but every time I select my name and phone number, I keep getting the same error as others have mentioned. JUST FIX THE BUG! Why is this so hard for developers to understand? We are all complaining about the same thing. “Something went wrong. Try again” should be your daily motto at work. So frustrating!

App is cool but missing a few things. Can’t delete contacts from suggestions that are no longer in my saved contacts and that’s really weird…
  • Nice to have…

I’ve been using voice for years, since before smart phone existed. It’s a great great service that I couldn’t believe was free. Well, there is probably a cost in terms of my privacy, but that ship has sailed long ago and at least Google isn’t demanding cash on top of it. Anyway, I wish I could call out from my landline (VOIP) from the app so I didn’t have to switch to the website, which has an inferior interface. Maybe this makes no sense to the developers, who may be millennials or younger and grew up with smart phones, but I’m gen X. My first phone was rotary dial and I never really got used to talking on a cell phone. The audio is sketchy and I still don’t like holding a tiny microwave to my head. So when at home I use the old handset. It’s more comfortable, and wireless, so still a microwave, but cooks my poor brain on relatively low power. It seems like a super easy change to allow this option if the backend code is the same; just add it back to the menu like it is on the website.
  • Audio

Used this app for years on multiple phones. Audio is always muffled, crackling, popping. More bad calls than good ones.

Circle of death every time you click on a message. As you ask on know, all keyboards are discerning what you are typing hence the abundant delays while typing. Just type in your email on a site without submitting any info. You’re going to review info from that site. It’s no longer America. We are no longer free.
