  • Top notes app. Worth the price. *Desparately* needs loadup speed

(Based on beta) Noteability is THE note-taking app. Everything you’d want, and more. Read *their* features list. No need for me to repeat. Just one major gripe. Very slow to load from scratch! (After scratch, *for awhile*, it pops right up.) The test for speed: I tested both Notes and Noteability in the same manner. For each, I used the stopwatch on my iPhone and the app on my iPad (Mini 4, iOS 12.2). I tried to be very anal. Each time, I pressed double-Home and swiped ALL apps up and out. Then I held Power and Home until the Apple appeared and rebooted the iPad. Then I started the app from scratch. Times from icon touch until the app was usable: Noteability: 6.97 seconds Notes: 3.43 seconds (I won’t delve into other apps which were even faster, some near instantaneous.) Noteability needs speed. Severely. Maybe the developers could figure a way to load up some immediate usability while slow-loading “bells and whistles” in the background. But to wait near 7 seconds with a logo screen is very tedious.
  • 手机会打不开APP

Hi! I love this app, it helps me study and organize, BUT The highlighter and eraser is the worst I’ve ever seen. Why does my highlighting goes over my handwriting? It literally covers the words when I highlight multiple times (I do multiple highlights when I am marking repeated sessions or tracing through things step by step). And every time I draw a diagram, I make a little mistake, the eraser takes off the entire thing!! Please give us more options! It’s just so annoying to work with !
  • Useful, but a few peeves...

    By Trent Kelsall
I use Notability with my iPad and Apple Pencil almost every day for handwritten notes, homework, and sketching up quick designs. It’s easy to use and keep organized, and I can access my notes across all my devices (my phone, my laptop, my desktop and my iPad). I really love the app, however, one of my biggest pet peeves with Notability is the fact that the grid lines are not consistently spaced! For some odd reason, It seems as if every 3rd grid line in both the vertical and horizontal directions is slightly further away from the rest. After using this app for 4+ years, the amount of times this has annoyed me really adds up. The quick draw for circles and straight lines is super helpful, and I think it would also be helpful to be able to draw other shapes as easily (like rectangles, ovals, semi-circles, triangles, hexagons, etc.) I also often find myself in situations where I want to select something smaller than the selection tool will let me, which is slightly annoying because I have to try to select a whole bunch of empty space to move something like a small line. Overall, great app. The best you can find for taking notes on your iPad. It’s loads better than the stock notes app, and worth putting up with the small annoyances, though for the simplicity of the grid spacing problem I don’t think this bug (?) should have lasted for as long as it has.

  • Thank you for this amazing tool.

I have used Notability on my iPhone and iPad for a while now. It tends to be the app where my ideas start and where my ideas grow. I primarily use Notability for work as a reporter. The ability to play/scrub audio and see my progress as I transcribe is a blessing. But I also use it to sketch home improvement plans, I use it to build MTG decks (alongside Scryfall— drag and drop is perfect!), and I sometimes use Notability to import scripts and scans from comic books and then “split” the pages (by opening scripts on left and scans on right) to study the flow between the two. Once, I was curious about a feature, so I hopped on Twitter and messaged the Notability account. Almost instantly I received a reply that answered my question (which was how to get the audio controls near the bottom of the screen on iPad while typing with a Smart Keyboard: the answer was to turn on left hand mode). I’m still finding new uses for Notability. It is an amazing tool. Thank you.

No way to reset it, making password protection for other files worthless.
  • Good but needs improvement

The app crashes very time I try to edit my PDF fill. It’s slow and constantly freezes. Please fix this. I would also recommend new updates to system, more features such as the ability to navigate to a certain page, add document attachments to PDF files, and to separate notes within folders accordingly, not just to date or to the time the file was created.
  • Several annoying bugs that aren’t fixed

    By KNT Daddy
You’ve been giving me the updates that say the same thing. Can you release a different update that it is focused on fixing this bug? Cause those updates with “miscellanous bug fixes” aren’t helping at all. I feel like this app is rather incompetent if it can’t fix something as simple as a crash. When I would write down a lot, the app would kick me out. When I return to my note, the stuff I recently wrote down were gone. It kicks me out a lot. I ask Notability to fix this, and they reply to me, asking me to give them info such as: version of my iPhone, how many times the app crashes etc. I give them the answers. They ask more questions and then they ask me to clear up some space. I do that, and they ask me to clear up some more space and that they’ve launched up an update. When I downloaded the update, it still didn’t fix the crash problem. I am not satisfied with how Notability deals with their problems. And when I type in on the search for notes, it freezes for a long time! It’s becoming really annoying. And when I search for my files, when I type down the first letter, it freezes and doesn’t stop freezing. I’d have to close it and not even use the search function, a function that was really helpful. This is getting too far.
