  • Giant alcohol ad that happens to let you order groceries

    If you’re a recovering alcoholic, have had issues with alcohol in the past, or if you just aren’t interested in drinking, skip this app. The app constantly shoves intrusive popup ads in your face, asking “do you want to pair alcohol with that?” regardless of the item you add to your cart or what you’ve searched for. No, Instacart, I do not want beer with my bagels. I contacted support to try to get these ads disabled, and their only option was to “buy from a store that does not sell alcohol.” Good luck finding a grocery store that falls under that category and still has what you need. This won’t be an issue for some people, and that’s great. But I honestly do find it egregious that these kind of ads can’t be disabled. I cannot, in good faith, recommend this app to anyone.

    Spent quite a bit of time putting in my order only to realize it was on pickup and not delivery. Had to cancel, now this app won’t let me use that order to change to delivery. Very annoying.

    Usually the app is good, but in the last month it hasn’t allowed me to add items to my order after the order is placed. I have to go to the website to make additions, which is annoying.

    The time is not worth it if you need the customer service team to get you the job done. But the most valuable thing for a shopper platform is to have a good and prepared and skilled customer service staff which they are very poor in that area. Hope competitor and their business analytics read this and create a good one for us soon🤩

  • Family Accounts are Unreliable

    My sister and I both have accounts with Instacart, and she has Instacart+ subscription which she would share with me so we can shop as a family or individually (we share same address as they permit for the Family Account feature). Over the past 12 months have had to be re-invited to join her Family Account multiple times, and still every time it gets set up, a few weeks later I go to place an order and find that I magically no longer have the Instacart+ benefits available on my account and cannot find a way to fix the problem, which is a convenient problem for the company considering if I didn’t notice I’d just end up paying more fees. Tired of this app.

    Service doesn’t work half the time and when you contact customer service don’t expect to get any help. The service is currently not working for me and I was told to try again in 48 hours. Horrible service

    This app has changed my life in so many ways for the better! It’s so convenient to get all my shopping done at once and either pick it up or have it delivered. I travel for work so to grocery shop when I’m home for a couple of days is the last thing on my mind. Thank you for the shoppers that make our lives easier!

    Locked out of account, service refuses to help. Told only option to cancel. Service was rude and incompetent. Promised discounts never materialize, they over charge and I now hate these people with a passion unknown until this day. CANCELLED
