  • This app is AMAZING!!!!

I would 100% recommend this app for those of you who would like to learn a language! This app teaches you from step one and helps you all the way to the top!!! If you are a slow learner, you can absolutely do the lesson over again!!! One of the things I love about the app is the cute little animations!!! If you are having a hard day, those cute little faces will brighten you up! Another thing that I love about the app is that you get five hearts to retry. Other apps for languages that I have tried only give you one chance. Overall, I think duo lingo is a great app for beginners and non-beginners who already know.

I’ve had an account for several years, but never opted for the paid route after trying Plus on a free trial last year. However, I got a notification today that my subscription renewed. Duolingo randomly started charging my account in May of this year for no reason at all. I thought this was a trustworthy app, but I am really disappointed by the shady money grab tactics for a couple bucks. Sad. If you don’t want to get pickpocketed stay clear.

I am having trouble with the program working properly. I have tried repeatedly for a couple of weeks to contact but to no avail. There’s no one home. They have my money for a year subscription- NO REFUND!!!! and NO SERVICE!!!! Fancy software but just another scam.
  • Good

Duolingo is a good, quick, and easy way to learn a language. It promotes fun activities and feels more like a game than something teaching me a language. You might be wondering, why did I leave it at 4 and not 5? Well there’s just one thing and that it doesn’t support teaching Tagalog (the Philippines’ language). I’m sure that they may be planning on adding a course for Tagalog but right now there’s nothing. I’ve been really eager to learning and being fluent in it mostly because it’s my own language and it would be sad if I didn’t know it. Other than that, I have no complaints about the app. It works perfectly fine and doesn’t have any noticeable bugs with plenty of languages to learn. Overall good

  • Inappropriate

You need to use a traditional book to learn new elements and not just the app. Some very inappropriate stories not suitable for family use. The voice recognition is poor: doesn’t like the way I say the letter R; it has a very hard time with a an English accent. Hate it that they have turned it in to a stupid game. A sure way to make one hate learning a language. Play the game, don’t learn the language. Also a number of the voices are incomprehensible.
