I love the stock iOS mail app, but using spark made me fall in love with it. More I used it, the more I got used to it. Definitely worth a try,

Recently, I came to my attention that I sent an email from a name that I never went by. but was legally affiliated to me more than 15 years ago. The name came from my outlook.com address email, but the email was sent from Sparkmail when I send the emails from outlook.com, it has my name correct as it should and always has. I've only been using Spark for less than a year, so there's no way they could've known about that name I never would have given it to them as part of my information aside from the fury and the emotional damage that you have caused, somebody tell me how you felt it was appropriate or acceptable for you to dig into my past 15 years prior, find a name that I never went by and use that in a professional email correspondence. How dare you? You should be ashamed, and i should SUE

I really meant every word of my original review. This app completely transformed my inbox and saved me from drowning in junk mail. I’ve actually been using Spark for years now and should have left a five-star review ages ago! I’m just glad the in-app review prompt finally popped up to remind me to give this team the massive credit they deserve. Fast, efficient, and highly recommended.

It definitely works better on my desktop computer than my iPhone. On my phone, for some emails, it only displays the email with the sender and subject, but often won’t display the contents of some until much later. The little blue circle just spins until it times out. Then if I try to open the email again maybe an hour later, the contents will finally be there. This mainly seems to happen with my main email account (yahoo). So if I need to read it quickly I have to use the yahoo email app. The other issue is that I have to go to the spam folder regularly to find emails I have marked as “not spam“ many times, but they keep being sent to spam anyway. Otherwise, I really like Spark especially the ability to block domains.

I have been happily using this app for many years, clear back to the classic version. However, since iOS26, the app has become almost unusable. If it decides to fetch my emails from my gmail account, which it doesn’t on many days, when I try to open the emails I’m met with the dreaded spinning circle. If it doesn’t download the emails at all then I have to go to gmail and see them and they open fine. After spending several days and one entire day trying to fix the issue on my end I’ve given up. There’s no point in paying for another email app, especially if it’s not working. And I don’t believe the customer should have to go down 50 rabbit holes and it still doesn’t fix the problem. There are a lot of features I liked and that was why I was willing to pay for it. I might consider reinstalling it if I can be assured that it’s been fixed, if not…it’s been nice knowing you. Oh, and the ai stuff, that I could and have lived without for 76 years, I think that’s just unnecessary bloat and another reason to charge more money.

I’ve used this app for years but I’ve now discontinued use after constantly rising prices and a bug earlier this year which archived most messages in multiple mailboxes. I worked with support and they said it was a user issue when I pushed back they said they have no idea because we enabled debug logging after it happened. As a result I had 12,000 emails I either had to leave as archive or manually fix myself. The app is also filled with more AI stuff that isnt useful. It’s become increasingly bloated, slow and buggy as the years go by. Just canceled my subscription I’ve had for 5+ years and deleted the app.

I’ve given this app several chances over the last 5 years. It’s so complicated, I cannot find the email that was sent just a few minutes ago because it is so smart if filters my messages in some weird place that seems always take me time to find. I just want to find the email that was I received just minutes ago. I often have to leave this app and go login to the google web mail just to have a simpler interface where I can find the email that was just received.

I enjoy Spark as my main email app, but this latest update introduced an annoying “feature” where an open email scrolls to the top every time the app is brought into focus. For example, scroll to the middle or end of a long email, click on a link to an article on the web, then return to Spark. Your email viewer will automatically scroll to the top of the email, forcing you to scroll down to find the place where you left off. Very annoying!

When scheduling a reply to an email, it moves directly to the "Sent" folder instead of the "Outbox", unlike when scheduling a new email. For email threads with back-and-forth replies, the messages are organized within the "Sent" folder rather than appearing in the "Inbox". How can this be made clearer?

Spark was great till it wasn’t now it’s an overly saturated AI Email Assistant, which would be okay if it was an email app first and AI was an add on, but it’s AI first. Recommend don’t buy, don’t install.
