  • Daily screen time is frustrating

I set up the times I allow her on her tablet and it doesn’t work. It either pauses during the day or allows her to play late at night. When I pause her screen for a few hours, when I click resume, I have to restart her device to get it to unlock. The passcode won’t work and neither will me hitting resume.

I like that I am able to set daily screen times but I would really appreciate it if I could see how much time they have left for the day. I know you can see it on the kids tablet but I would like to see it from this parent control app. Also, I have all the setting for my kids to request apps but somehow they can still download some without a request.
  • Search Function is Abismal

I love my kids’ tablets and the fact they can’t download things without my approval. HOWEVER, from the parents’ side, there is a lot left to be desired. My main complaint about this app is the fact that when you search for an app in shared content, the search function does not work, and takes scrolling through hundreds, if not thousands of games and titles until you get to the one you are looking for. Amazon is a corporate giant with all the resources in the world - WHY is this a 90s search machine?
  • Needs better parental controls

Please give us the option to block specific video creators and apps. Having to go through every single Ryan combo panda Diana and every other bratty kid video is so tedious.
  • Unresponsive unintuitive

This is by far the worst designed parental controls app I have used. You’re better served to just get an iPad. Their controls do not make any sense and if you make a change it affects the tablet and kids echo devices but does not tell you that. Just poor design overall. Also super slow response when clicking back or any other buttons to navigate. Not having universal setting for all kids is frustrating.

  • Bad parental controls

We have had Amazon Kids for over a year and there is WAY too much pre-loaded content. Parental controls allow you to block content but you have to go episode by episode - rather than being able to block an entire series. Recently we discovered our 3 year old has been able to access videos that we have specifically blocked - so what’s the point if the parental control? There are a lot of series of YouTube influencers’ content in these KIDS subscriptions as well. I’d say their age rating is inappropriate for a great amount of the content.
