HP Easy Scan is an UI application designed specifically to use with HP scanner or HP Multifunction Printer for scanning, editing, and saving of photos, documents and objects. The key features of the HP Easy Scan application are: Multipage scanning from the selected device with specified settings Automatic Photo detection Manual post-scan image editing like color enhancement and geometry adjustment (horizontal alignment and size trimming) Saving to a variety of formats including OCR formats Customization of scan shortcuts settings Premium scan button handling end user experience. HP Easy Scan uses the Apple ICA Scan Protocol and will work with any HP Device that is supported by ICA Scan drive.

    Since Feb. 15th update (with no patches issued yet), Scanning software CRASHES when trying to save document. I have used this software for some years prior to this most recent "update" with no issues. Now, I cannot realiably scan multiple pages or both sides of a document without problems. HP's response to fixing this (for Mac Users) is poor to deporable (at best). For new purchasers of printers, I would recommend something other than HP products.

    Lately - I'm on Sonoma - crashes each and every time I use it. Looks like it's working fine, until I get to end and try to save file. Then crashes.

  • Feb '24 Version Still Crashes on Saving Text-Searchable PDFs

    It seems the ONLY option ALL users want is the ability to save PDFs as text-searchable, but this feature is still broken, even in the latest version of this app that was updated in early 2024. I can scan documents just fine, but when I try to save as text-searchable PDFs, the app simply crashes and no document is saved. This is very frustrating. Please fix it HP.

    Never had an issue with this app. Updated my OS and this app. Now crashes every time I hit edit. I use this for my job. Now I will get fired.

    Since upgrading to macOS 14.4, Clicking on the "Edit" button will cause HP Easy Scan to crash! The "Rotate","Info" and "Send" commands still appear to function normally. If you need to be able to edit a scanned document with the latest macOS operating system, HP Easy Scan is no longer a solution for you.

  • Constantly Crashes

    Used to work great. Now program crashes with any attempt to edit the scanned items. First it was occasional and now it is constant. Cannot use. Am on Sonomo 14.4.1. Scanner is from an HP all in one printer/scanner.

    I have had the hardest time trying to figure out how to scan stuff to my computer. All the directions on the HP site were super confusing. But this app worked perfect, it was so easy.

  • Version 2.0 issue with Sonoma

    Upon upgrading MacOS to Sonoma (MacOS 14.4.1), Easy Scan crashes upon clicking on "Edit." So scans are no longer editable. My printer is an HP OfficeJet Pro 8740.

  • 2.0 Version Stopped Working

    Every since I updated to 2.0, my printer is not recongized. Can't downgrade to an older version. Every other Mac at home is on 1.9 and now I'm not upgrading it. Stay away.
